Dear Pan and Ivan, I came into this. Ideo trying to see if I could pick up some trucks and tips to optimize my car detailing processes, however, what I came out with after watching this video was an insane amount of emotions. I felt sorry for myself, I felt my eyes opened, I felt so many things at once, anger, sadness, and happiness all at once. I am 25 years old and I have absorbed soooo much of your wisdom and it just blows my mind to a level I can’t quite comprehend. I’m not sure if that’s the effect you guys planned to have on your fans, but you indeed changed my life with this information packed video. I don’t know how to thank you, you’ve given me so much, and I just want to say, thank you, thank you very very much. I’m gong. To save this video and try to watch it whenever my spirit drops and start to lose motivation. This helped a ton. Please keep doing what you’re doing! And I won’t forget to keep it tight, keep it clean, and I will be seeing you on the next one.

That's awesome Cristian! That's one of the main goals of my channel: to inspire my viewers to enjoy detailing, gain more knowledge and the process and if they plan on starting a business, how to become successful at it. If my viewers watch my videos and learn a thing or two all while being entertained, I am a happy man at the end of the day. So thank you for being a part of my community and being such a positive viewer! I'm glad to know I can help to inspire my viewers.

a couple of tricks i like 1) spray Iron Remover on the car before I put my first snow foam rinse layer on the car - works well - especially on the wheels 2) on my second snow foam layer (where I do a contact wash) I keep a clay mitt/pad in my bucket of foamy water to perform a quick clay during the same step. I find the clay pad is really useful for lifting out tough spots... Just my 2 cents - not a pro, but it' helps work efficiently... Last tip is I spray on graphene or silicon seal/wax onto the car wet before i dry it with a microfiber towel - dry and shine at the same time... I just switched from Turtle Wax Graphene Flex to Technicians Choice TEC582 because i can buy it by the gallon and it's a lot cheaper than TW (Amazon has jacked the price 25% over the past year )

I sprayed my car with iron remover yesterday. Wow the stuff works so well especially my windows which are so crystal clear. My driveway was a mess though and I had to power wash it when I was done. My car never had an iron remover so you can imagine what came off after 5 years driving in FL.

Hey Pan, thank you so much for helping me make better quality decisions in the deyailing world. I used to detail years ago but i ended up giving up because my alcoholism took over completely. I got sober in february of 2023 and when i made the decision to start my detailing journey again i realized the game has changed big time. I didnt know what products to use that were not too hard on my wallet and inpretty much just forgot how to even start. Anyway, my point is that you break things down so well and made it so easy for me to get the ball rolling again. You are one of the biggest influences in the detailing world that i know of and i just wanted to give my thanks and praise to someone as kind, humble and experienced as you are. 🙏🏻 peace and love from New Jersey brother ✌️

The point about not spending more time getting the car to look as if it’s our own personal car and not a clients is spot on. I always fine myself showing people what I was able to remove in the paint correction when in truth they never even saw the blemish in the first place. So many nuggets of wisdom in here that I’d be commenting for days if I covered them all I love the way the conversation flowed between you guys. To be organized. To be organised. To be organised. That's all there is to it. If you are not organised you can't be efficient. If you are not efficient you are wasting time. If you are wasting time you might as well quit. Organise your work space. Organise your tools. Organise your work process. And most of all - Detailing is not just polishing - theories and understanding the essence of how to do and go about your detailing business is a huge part. Excellent video! 🙂👌

Speaking truth! Also, just like people think using the best products/tools and spending so much on them will make them a better detailer. That’s not entirely true. The average person doesn’t want a 100% near perfect detail. Just clean to their eyes. Even the drive through wows them. Stand behind your brand and give them unmatched service. Always ad complimentary vacuum or something extra because I want to and our business is blessed because of it too!

I started forever ago but used to take 3 or 4 hrs to do a complete detail but over the past few years I've only accepted details on vehicles that are 3 yrs old or newer now every detail I do takes an hour and 20 minutes or less. the key is to detail the same cars over and over and keep them clean at least every two weeks minimizing the effort because the cars are already pretty clean. taking on a lot of details that involve a very neglected vehicle and extra steps is the reason most detailers either quit or are suffer constant fatigue. take some days off and relax. then get back to it.. it makes it all worth it
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
I personally have decided to only detail brand new cars, and offer only one package: total interior/exterior new car prep including ceramic coating. I find that focusing on lower volume, but higher end jobs, makes me happier. When I started detailing 25 years ago, I remember the days of 15$ car washes, and 50$ clay and wax. And cleaning people's disgusting filthy neglected cars. I stay far from that now and prefer to do what I enjoy. Taking care of vehicles for people who take pride in their car, and who will enjoy maintaining the finish once I'm done with their vehicle.

Gotta say-- there's a TON of good content here, that extends beyond detailing. Great advice for business owners as well as ambitious employees. I do somewhat disagree, however, with a contempt for long-hour hustlers. Not all of us have lives, or even families. Some of us, for myriad reasons, are so fiscally low on the totem pole, that sixty hours or more a week is the best and most reasonable way forward. Let's have a little empathy and love for those of us who are hungry, and will run everyday to eat.

Just sat down after an 8 hr day of paint correction/polish for my daughter in-laws black suv. Full of swirls and light scratching. My son arrived at the end and I started to explain that there are some light scratches/swirls still in the paint but I had to move on because of time and I knew his wife wouldn’t see them, well either could my son. I’ve been scratching my head on how I could be more efficient, how can these detailers be doing a full cut with an interior clean in an 8 hr day. I'm just a hobbyist doing our two family vehicles, but still an interesting video - greater efficiency is an admirable goal in any business - even for employees. I'm still adjusting to seeing Yvan in videos without his dress shirt and bow tie, but it's not as shocking as it once was. I recently did a detail on my wife's car and used the rinseless wash/iron remover/clay towel combination Yvan showed on one of his videos to combine 3 steps into one -- it would be nice to expand on ideas like this in another video. Finally, let me say that I love my detailing cart! - another recent addition inspired by one of his videos.

Thanks Donald. Yvan has a wealth of knowledge for sure. Always a pleasure to hang out with him. If you're curious about his efficient process of cleaning, iron removal, claying and sealing, watch a two part series of videos I did with him in the days when he was vice president at Optimum. Those are still relevant today. Here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5zLZXaLmpdnp5o kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmS7Z55pqLJkiJI

This is an awesome video and I hope everyone appreciates the wisdom and knowledge shared. Remember we are in the people business and always remember to give the customer the pickle! I also just received my DYI shipment and the rinseless wash smells like apples. The interior cleaner smells fresh. Some advice is to not smell the interior ceramic. I normally stick to a few products but something tells me this line is special and worth investigating. Is there a possibility of gallon size concentrated products in the future? I can wash, clay, iron remove, dry, polish, and ceramic coat a four door car in four hours but I know I’m still taking to many steps. For me I think of Fangio who said the secret to winning is to drive as slow as you can and still win the race. By the way that theory works for a lot of life events. Always challenge yourself to improve efficiency. Thank you guys for the video and I appreciate your time and effort!

@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
You have to redo all the steps, including machine polishing, as mechanical abrasion from the polisher is the only way to ensure 100% removal of a coating. But if you didn't like the Adam's Advanced Graphene Ceramic Coating, you won't like most other coatings in the consumer range... What did you not like about the Adam's??

I used the same Adams product and am fairly happy with it. The only issue I have is that it makes my tinted windows look hazy when looking outside when the sun is hitting the window. I'm going to machine polish the windows and apply the Glaco product instead.

Hey Pan. I live in Canada. Can you please do a video about keeping products in the garage during winter with no heater? Which ones are a must to keep inside the house and which ones can survive the winter?
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
It's pretty simple. No detailing chemicals should be frozen. So if your garage isn't heated, bring all of your products in your house for the cold months. Products should be stored as close to room temperature as possible (20C is ideal) and never frozen. Also keep in mind most chemicals have a shelf life of 1 to 2 years max.

Hi Pan, Huge fan even though I am not a detailer, Just a Car Enthusiast who appreciates the looks of a clean and shiny car. I had my previous car professionally ceramic coated next day I got it (Lexus RS 350) with the best product the detailer had (Gloss Revolution 8 year protection). The protection and gloss was insane and since I am have OCD, I kept my car clean and always used Car-Pro Reload every time I washed it and it maintained the beauty and protection. I just exchange the car for a BMW X5 M50 in Metallic White. A gorgeous SUV and that still only has 52 miles driven. I am on the fence on what to do regarding paint protection. The detailer I used before moved to another state so I need to find a new one. Can you suggest what to use on my BMW. I remember you had one before the Porsche. I am willing to purchase what ever I need and provide the Detailer with the products myself. I am looking for Insane Shine and long last protection. I appreciate your insights and recommendations. Thank You!
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jose! Congrats on your new X5 M50! Before my Porsche 911 Turbo S, I had a beautiful BMW M550i xDrive and I loved it! :) There are two types of coatings you can have applied to your vehicle. If you plan on doing this yourself, you can apply a good one like CarPro Cquartz UK 3.0 (which lasts 2 years) like I did when I took delivery of my BMW here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqSmnn2AebVmrtE And then about a year after, I took the option of removing everything, and having it professionally coated with Opti-Coat Pro+, as you'll see in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZDLk2uGgrVmgaM That's a 7 to 9 year coating. But costs a lot to have installed. So if you want maximum durability, go for a professional grade product if you can afford it. If not, there are many good consumer grade coatings. I hope this helps!

Love the information Pan . A Jeep Wrangler has factory stickers. For example Rubicon on the hood. How do you go about doing paint correction and polishing on or near these? I assume you can't polish over top? Maybe not even even apply ceramic over top? Next question will new vinyl emblems stick to a ceramic coated vehicle? I would think a prewash to get the nastier grit off, then decon spray, soap, and clay using that mixture before rinsing everything off.
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
Yvan explained this in my DIY Detail products review here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqHcfXt7pN17kLs Note that not all iron removers can be used as a clay lubricant, and not all clay media can be used in combination with iron removers.

I've always been concerned about mixing chemicals or processes to save time . Never did for fear of causing a reaction that might damage paint or leave a film on surfaces . Any advice?
@Detailers-Business-Academy2 жыл бұрын
Agreed, mixing chemicals is not always a good idea. If the manufacturer recommends a process, you should be able to trust it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHmzpZKhbtt7iqc

😊Hello Pam, Thank you for sharing product information with all types of detailing products. Off the topic of this video, have you ever tried applying Meguiars Last Touch Spray Detailer on paint that has Turtle Hybrid Ceramic coating on it and it’s between washes and I just wanted to spruce up the shine?

If your working outside is it really smart to offer a coating if you can not maintain it in the winter?
@PanTheOrganizer6 ай бұрын
A coating will still outperform a regular wax or sealant in any scenario. So that doesn't really matter. But ideally you'd get the car washed once a month, to keep the coating in good condition and minimize the road salts and mineral deposit accumulation over the months. If you can't wash it yourself, you can bring it to a reputable detailer near you. Or, as an alternative, even though it's not the best option, you can still go to an automatic car wash (contactless, without brushes or bristle rollers) to get the majority of the gunk off.

What an informative video Pan and Yvan!!! I love finding new ways to become more efficient. That being said, I had a question or idea about being more efficient in the contact wash. Regarding the "Two Bucket Wash Method," how necessary is it having a second bucket (soap solution bucket) if I am using a foam cannon to apply the soap to the vehicle. How much more safe is having that second bucket with soap in it compared to just having to dunk my wash mitt in one bucket (rinse bucket)? I feel that having to dunk your mitt in a second bucket can slow you down a bit compared to only dunking it in one bucket. I know having that second bucket is more filtration but in your opinion, do you think it is that necessary to have it? I'd love to hear what you have to say about this topic Pan and would also love to hear other people's opinions as well.

Whew! Lots to chew on. In my case, if I can be transparent, was pride. To proud to change things. My last job required me to work MINIMUM 60 hours a week. I thought ok....can do it. Fortunately I had close friends telling me that I looked like crap, and was not fun to be around. My health was bad, and emotionally doing poorly. While away from work, talked about work. Terrible balance. Unfortunately most places of work don't want 40 hour work weeks for employees, but want more all of your personal time. So absolutely right, get life in balance, and have close friends to keep you on track. Really enjoyed this video Pan. People really need to hear this message. Thax!

Thanks Kim. And yeah as we get older, we tend to focus on what's really important, or at least come to the realization that we need to reorganize the way we live and prioritize better. When you're 20, you feel invincible and you think you can tackle anything. As you get into your 30's and 40's, things change, life has its way of reminding you that you need to stat enjoying being around your loved ones, and focus on what's really important to you.
