I use mousse and gel a lot!! I did it alllll winter! Try this ouidad gel with other mousses like my fav mousse is curls avocado mouse, lotta body foam with the pump, botanika mousse, terra veda mousse and carols daughter mousses. I rotate those every time.

Low porosity hair has a tightly bound cuticle layer, making it difficult for moisture to penetrate (but also difficult for moisture to escape, once it's in your hair.) On the other hand, high porosity hair has gaps and holes in the cuticle, allowing moisture to easily pass in and out

I always thought I had low porosity because I was buying trash items that just didn’t moisturize my hair at all. After I got better stuff I found I get moisture easy but lose it easy too. Knowing your porosity and density is SO MUCH BETTER then finding your curl type tbh.

Your hair is medium to high porosity if it dries really quick. Low porosity takes a while to dry.

i think i know what she meant. with low porosity hair, if the moisture is not worked in the products just sit on top of the hair shaft which means it was never really wet/moisturized to begin with. hence there is no lasting effect. i think maybe her wording was just off.

low porosity means the hair shaft is more closed, so the hair repels more water and therefore doesn’t stay wet very long... this can also differ depending on curl types.

Here in Virginia the humidity is real so my frizz is on ridiculous levels. I could never get my wash and go to keep longer than 3 days. I started a new regime using Aveeno overnight oat hair mask the night before wash day then after washing it out and doing my deep treatment I use my leave in (either the original As I Am or Treluxe), Camille rose coconut water style setter, a little Uncle Funky curl stimulator gel and the GOAT.....JOHN FRIEDA FRIZZ EASE HAIR TOUCH UP CREAM! (I got a 4 oz sample in the Target beauty box and never tried it!) That ish is the GOAT! My hair was defined, shiny frizz free and MOISTURIZED. I even put my hair in a puff on day 4 and took it down day 5 and still had great hair🙌 I know it's supposed to be for touch ups but I used it on my wet hair while styling...game changer.

Gel needs lots of water so I was thinking mousse and then gel on hair washed with shampoo without a leave-in. That’s how I’ll try it.

Yes there’s a difference. Whichever is more detangling needs to be applied first, imo. As far as how it looks, it’s very similar but one method is likely to have more elongation than the other. Personally I prefer mousse/setting lotion on top of gel.
