Washer fluid leak fixed on XC70 P3 Platform. Using BMW part :)

Keep in mind, the washer pump he found with the leak is only for the headlamp washers. The windshield washer pump is forward of the other one. Another source of leaks are the connections at the headlamp washers. Volvo uses stiff corrugated plastic hoses which crack on the ends.

I’m going to order the part and keep it ready, next time my washer fluid is empty I’ll do it. I don’t have the issue on my 2012 S80 yet but that is very good to know ! Thanks to you and Evgeny!

Thanks for this video. I have a 2008 Volvo C70 with the same leak. Removing the fender insert is the key to accessing the elbow. I hope this part will work for my C70, too. I am sure that the elbow will go on my 2009 XC70 T6 too.

2 weeks ago I bought an S80 T6 2012. And first day I noticed that when I fill my washer tank to the top it was leaking. Exactly same problem that you show on this video. So thank you very much gentlemen. I am going to bmw part store tomorrow and fix my issue :) Have nice days with your Volvos.

If it does not leak all the way out till empty then it could be the seal ring between the neck and the reservoir connection. This is actually my problem right now.

@@volvosweden oh yes it doesn’t. Just like a glass of water maybe half, then it stops leaking. So I will be checking firstly the neck. Thanks 🙏

@@volvosweden Would you make a video for this? I think it might be my issue. I just replaced what you showed in this video but like you are saying, my wiper fluid leak leaves the tank 1/3 full. The issue is this seal ring between the neck and reservoir? Thanks!

I also went through this in my 2009 V70, from what I found out this is standard for the P3 platform.

I have an 09 V70 too. I once looked at it but in my case it seems to leak only if I fill it all the way up to the "neck". I might take another look at it sometime soon.

I have a problem with my washers leaking but it is from the right side of the car. I think it could be from the headlight washer, but i will replace this elbow at the same time. Thanks for your excellent videos.

AMAZING hack to get that part from BMW I had a similar problem on my 2008 where the line actually cracked.... I fixed it with some rubber line

I also have a screen wash leak on my XC70, although mine is from the headlight washer tube which is split. I will also be using BMW parts to fix as the tubing is the same and I got some off a scrap car.

Looking fwd to P3 XC70 coolant flush vid. I just muddled my way thru it, in which I only drained and replaced 50%...enough to raise pH from 6.94 --> 7.48. Having an electronic cooking pH probe gave me a sure way to know that the coolant needed exchange (~70K miles).

Is there a replacement for the elbow that is not from BMW ? couldnt find it from china. only found similar for VW but its straight not 90 degree elbow, so useless.

Could also buy a regular 90 degree barbed plastic elbow for same hose diameter and a bit of extra hose if there is not enough length to cut a piece and eliminate the quick connect completely. I use the barbed plastic connectors (One 90 degree L junction and one T junction) on winter time instead of the one way valves under the washer nozzles. I have heated nozzles and -40c liquid but those stupid valves still freeze already at -10c so for winter I eliminate them.

Hi, I have a problem with my V70 2011, l have a warning for low level of water fluid for the windscreen despite that I have filled it up. I see no leaks. What is the problem ? BR Erik

This is not the first Volvo part which can be found at BMW! I have a Volvo 480 from the 1980s/1990s (never sold outside Western Europe) where the original Volvo part for the headlight support is expensive and very hard to find, but they were also used on BMW and there they are cheap and easily available.
