I made one of these books because I don't have a lot of room for bigger storage anymore in my craft area so I found this to be so cute and way useful with all the assortment of things you can add to it! I have all my washi tapes both purchased and made in it and a ton of ribbons and trims and even some paper strips. I keep the bulk of the items stored in my attic and when my book runs out I can go up and get some more to put in it! Great idea! So glad you did this video!!

Bookbinding always seemed to be so difficult and 'insider-like' and you make it look like a very fun and easy thing to do! I have actually almost finished my version of this booklet, but I wonder if the middle signature shouldn't be stuck into INSIDE FIRST and not the other way around. Also: I think this would be a wonderfull math project. Would raise lots of questions and puzzling, but in the end, no one would lose. Thanks for making seemingly heavy things so much more easy.

Thank you for the great video. I will definitely try making one of these. I am always looking for more storage ideas and this one is excellent! I love the fact that I can use these cereal boxes that I keep hoarding (so I can eventually use them for my crafting of course... lol).

I love this book and have spent the evening making one (did not know what washi tape was before today either!) - it occured to me that rather than using waxpaper (that i did not have) and glue that using double sided tape and not removing the backing would work - it seems ok so far - also as i only had paper gold adhesive photo corners I decided to glue them on before sticking in the front papers - this covered more of the ugly self adhesive black back. love love love your tutorials x thank you

Jennie- your books are so beautiful. Your colors and materials go together so well- and are uniquely you. I have problems with bubbles under the papers and bowed pages even after using a bone folder. What is your secret for keeping your pages so flat? do you weigh them?

Thank you- I notice on some projects you use glue stick, liquid glue and double-sided tape. I have never seen that done and it is a great idea!
@jennibellie12 жыл бұрын
hiya, thank you :) the by definition of the tape it shouldn't lift off as masking tape is designed not to remove anything underneath it & it's never removed any of mine but I think it also helps buying a tape with a porous (non-waxy I call it in the video) surface tape - that way the paint sinks into the surface of the tape, rather than sits upon it, therefore it's there for good. Hope that helps :) x

@jennibellie12 жыл бұрын
Hi cknlittle1, no I don't weight them but they are quite think papers so that may help. I also think using two kinds of glue helps - the wet glue seems to act as a 'moveable' agent to the dry glue - which once sets has a permanent effect. Also I cover every single mm of the paper with glue, I've always been a bit ott with glue but I really think it means there is no room for bubbles to form. Hope I've helped :) xx

What a lovely idea! I've made a slightly different holder for my washi tapes (which I posted a video tutorial for on my channel) but I think I'm going to make one of these to keep my ribbon in - I've got loads of short pieces currently stuffed in a box, and this would be a perfect way of displaying them so I can see them all :)

Your tape and book are broth brilliant. I do have a question. You used watercolor to make some of your tapes. Doesn't that smear? Or come up when you remove the layer of tape over it? Thanks!

Hi Joyce, thanks so much =) I'm afraid it's a double-edged sword - when you see everything as something you can make something out of you tend to collect more and more stuff lol so I wish I could say it's limits what you have around but unless you use it promptly you end up building quite a collection haha which is both a blessing and not sometimes. Thanks for watching, much love xx
