Hmm, you didn’t put the end caps on the ends of the spring in the clutch assembly.

If your washer is more than 5 years old expect some delay. All of the minerals and gunk get built up around the spanner nut and basket drive block. First manually spun my tub buy rotating the brake assembly. Since it spun clockwise I turned counter clockwise. I had to add liquid wrench and let sit for a few hours. I used a propane hand torch doing several 6 second bursts. The nut finally released. For the block I did the same but found it hard to wack it from below. I actually used the spanner wrench to tap it all around then from underneath. It finally came out!

My son sprayed SeaFoam penetrating oil and that helped release it.

So I took the tub out to clean all the gunk off. 🤢 I didn’t see any seals but I saw a LOT of rust, which I chipped away. I hope that rust wasn’t was keeping the water from leaking, haha. I guess I’ll find out after it’s all out back together. 😊

Dumb question? Why would you need to change the drive shaft on this? What goes wrong with them? My washer will not spin? Agitates fines and drains but wont spin and the clutch drum gets real hot.

Sounds like the clutch lining is all wore off of it.

Why don't any pro how-to videos ever cover replacing the upper and lower shaft seals? Especially while you have the whole washer practically disassembled.

In reality, most of the time, there's little room to maneuver to work these washer. If you're a tech you know what I'm saying. Installing parts is piece of cake.
