I always use dishwasher detergent when I soak items including stained clothes that nothing else has helped. Dishwasher detergent is made to have very low suds, rinse off easily and clean deeply. I keep some just for this kind of use. It does loose potency over a period of time as do all detergents but still has plenty for use after several years,

Thanks Ms Phyllis. Great information! Your go get'em attitude inspires me to do my own shades in the house. :)

Hi . You can hang out at any local beach with an RV,,, you don't have to drive all the way to quartzsite AZ to accumulate a lot of sand in your RV 😉 Do to bushel, peck, and hugs around the necks 👨👩👧👧 if a mattress came with the RV I'm hoping y'all didn't keep it 🚿 And I heard you threw out the couch 👌

Can anyone recommend a video that shows how to properly remove and reinstall the shades? Not just explaining, I need a visual! Thx!

We had ours professionally cleaned about 3 yrs ago and they were only $20.00each to have the guy come out and take them off. Take them to his shop to clean them, the bring them back Andre it’s all them. What a bargain that was.

Happy NY 2017. I think the tub was a better idea-trying to apply a cleaning product outside on shades on a tarp sounds too challenging to get cleaning product evenly applied. I do have questions - does that mean EACH time you take down the blinds to clean you would need to use a larger expander when reinstalled? Didn't the tarp hold the drained off water from the shades? Would putting towels on top of the tarp and then removing the towels after draining the shades absorb the water-then you could put dry towels down and flip over the shades to dry the other side? You are indeed an inspiring woman.

With the expanding screws the little plastic anchor stays in the wall so you would be able to take the screws out at least that's been my experience with those type screws. The anchor has little barbs that lock into the sheetrock in regular home walls so I think it would do the same thing in the plywood walls of an RV.

Hi Phyllis thanks for your video got day night shades in the Cottage semi trailer and one i think has got dust and mildew I dont know how to get them off so you are more skilled them i am but i will have a look at where they are I live in a destination cottage from Cedar creek USA. Could i change them to verticals thanks
@PhyllisStokes6 жыл бұрын
I sure would not know how to change them to vertical, if the shades are white you could try using a little Clorox and water mixture to get the mildew stain out. If the shades are any other color like beige the Clorox water thing probably would not work.

Could you saw the valance off from the wall and the be able to remove it? Just a thought.
@PhyllisStokes7 жыл бұрын
It would be difficult to get a saw of any kind between the valance and the wall, maybe a hacksaw blade if you held it in your fingers.

Phyllis I have a Stanley flush cutting saw that would slip in and they aren't too expensive. www.amazon.com/Stanley-20-331-4-Inch-Points-Flush/dp/B00002X2BT/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1483411536&sr=8-2&keywords=flush+trim+saw
