Washington & Old Dominion Trail - Northern Virginia

The W&OD Trail ends in the Shirlington area of Arlington County and there are connecting trails that will go all the way to Washington DC and it starts in rural Purcellville, VA. The trails passes through Leesburg, Vienna, Reston, Herndon among others. The entire 45 miles is paved with nine foot wide asphalt and has a painted yellow center line. We rode on our bikes between Vienna, VA and I-66 intersection.

It is nice trail which is to be a train route converted to a two lane bicycle trail connecting Washington D.C. to North Western part of Virginia. Thank you for taking time to comment.
