Last Updated: Wednesday, December 06, 2023 10:50 AM] Faunt/Va/SW - #2 Cathlamet Sailing Between Fauntleroy & Vashon Only The #1 Kitsap is delayed at the Southworth terminal due to unscheduled maintenance. This will limit service with the #2 Cathlamet sailing between Fauntleroy and Vashon only, until the issue is resolved. Customers can take the Point Defiance/Tahlequah route as an alternative. Updates will occur as more information becomes available. [Last I am sitting and it is December 6th 11:25 a.m. and there is not a boat here anywhere. There is a boat docked at the Fauntleroy and there is a boat docked at the Vashon terminal. They are lying to us so the question is what are they up to? I think it's time to build a bridge to Vashon should have been done decades ago!

This terminal is dangerous in so many ways. The access from Fauntleroy Way when exiting is hazardous and the street access line for cars waiting to get on is a s**tshow.

Same old, same old. We need a second slip at Fauntleroy and a larger dock. The real issue here is the triangle route and having to build schedules around the fact that a boat can not load until the other one has offloaded. WSF scheduling attempts have been poor to terrible in this attempt at balancing the 3 routes. Building a second slip and larger dock directly addresses these issues. These steps will help remove the dangerous long lines up Fauntleroy Ave, improving safety, efficiency, and on-time performance. A second slip has far more value to customers than rebuilding the terminal building. Not that it will happen, WSF does not listen very well.

If the dock was moved to a location closer to downtown such as where the current walk on ferry dock is, so many of the concerns and problems would be solved. Why this is not back on the table for discussion is hard to understand. The road is much wider in that location and would solve traffic issues, It is also State owned property. Cars would not need to drive all the way through West Seattle to get to their primary destinations and yes, the ride would be longer for island residents, but they would save driving time and pollute the area to a much lesser degree.
