I remember the fireweed on Mount Baker back in the 1970’s. We really liked skiing in the sun shine on Mount Baker…the ice crystals that formed on the snow were breathtaking.

Same thought here, the effort he puts into shot setups, multiple angles, cinematography comes through in the final product. It looks amazing and I guess we are only seeing a fraction of what it takes to capture all this texture and feel.

Drew, you and your channel are so beautiful! It’s amazing how incredible the areas circling Mt Baker are when forest fires are not raging in the summer and fall months, unfortunately it seems to be the norm now. I’m glad that you had enough clear skies to share some amazing footage.

@@drewsimms I am so sorry about the break in of your Jeep and especially for the loss of your backup hard drives. It will be a minor setback in your long and successful career and life, but it does take away your innocence and the good feelings that you had about humanity. You will probably never know who did this to you and you will now have to live with sophisticated alarm systems. So many van lifers get broken into and then they install alarm systems. Unfortunately you are most often in areas without any type of cellular signals, even with devices that magnify weak signals, there still has to be something to magnify.

Thank you for sharing what you see, but also, from above, what none of us would ever see unless we could afford to pay for someone to pilot a plane for us; a whole new view of the natural beauty around us. We went camping all the time. My mom and dad and us five kids. One time my mom forgot to bring a pancake flipper so we had to use a saw to flip the pancakes. We used to take long hikes and go swimming.

Was in the Mt. Baker area in August as well!! We tried to do a summit hike/climb but looks like bad weather turns us around. Coleman glacier looked crazy tho!

Great film Drew, beautifully cinematic . Like the silent bits and the talky bits, I think they lose the human touch without some interaction and commentary. Not sure I’d have the confidence to make that big dive into an isolated lake… Look forward to the next one 👍👏

Thanks for showcasing Washington in such a beautiful way. I've always loved living here but I am loading up my mini van and heading to Arizona for the winter this year.

Drew usually I wait to watch your whole vlog. But the jaw dropping footage of the lake and those huge mountains was numbing. Wow! I imagine that water was a bit on the chilly side. You have amazing talent mate.
