I do not understand how a gang member shoots at another gang in mall and hits 3 random bystanders and he was found innocent via self defence.

@@WashingtonGunLaw Thanks for the engagement! Much appreciated. I do think the legality of 3D printed guns, specifically ownership and manufacturing of, would be very much appreciated by the community. Apologies if you've already made a video on the subject and thank you for taking the time to read this.

Never point a gun at a person in Washington State unless you like making Collect calls from prison. You can quote all the laws you want in Washington State but if You shoot a" Connected" person or if the prosecutor wants you, the laws in Washington State won't Protect you. The laws in Idaho are completely different, and MANY of a citizen wished ,they had discharged their firearm in Idaho and NOT Washington State.

The way I have always understood it is that in most states you are more likely to get in trouble if you scare off a criminal with a gun than if you just shoot them in self defense.

@dick-parker
@dick-parker 3 жыл бұрын

@WashingtonGunLaw
@WashingtonGunLaw 3 жыл бұрын
If you do not possess a valid CPL, the firearm must be stowed in the car unloaded. Whether you choose to keep it in a case, your glove box or center console, the firearm cannot be loaded. For individuals who want to protect themselves while on the road, which is understandable, we often advise them to keep the firearm in the center console with a magazine readily available in their left pocket or left side of the car (so long as they are a right-handed shooter). There is no requirement how the firearm must be carried while the car is underway. If the car is parked, and you leave the firearm unattended, it must be concealed from view from anyone standing outside the car.

@@WashingtonGunLaw thank you. Sometimes I just need things re-worded to get it through this skull thick enough to almost be bullet proof. I was understanding it as the firearm had to be actually locked in a box whether it be the lockable glove box or otherwise while traveling.

Consider a horizontal shoulder. The gun is pointing somewhat parallel to the ground and behind the possessor. And that person walks around in public. Invariably, the gun will be pointed a people behind that person. Would you say that would be a crime each time it points at another?

In a criminal trespass scenario, is threat of property damages and/or theft viewed as any weight whatsoever? Say I (an active licensed carry) were performing a citizen's arrest of criminal trespass under common law (individuals refusing to leave my private, clearly posted property, after being asked to do so) of known transient drug abusers. If I were to brandish but not threaten said trespassers, I could be at risk of losing my rights? With drugs involved, AND a blatant disregard of my request to vacate my private property, would that be deemed as threatening, to the courts; as it is to me? Are my (C.C. specific) rights and obligations any different in performing citizen's arrest vs. self defense? After this latest reform it would be great if you'd do a video specifically on common law and our rights of performing citizen's arrest now that the right of pursuit has been stifled for L.E.O.'s....scary times we are in.
@WashingtonGunLaw
@WashingtonGunLaw 3 жыл бұрын
Criminal Trespass involves only an interference with your property. We are not making light of it, but to aim a firearm at a person for merely trespassing is probably not legally permitted.

@@WashingtonGunLaw, I meant clarity more specifically on the 9.41.270 stating intimidating persons with a deadly weapon (via brandishing). Would the situation above be deemed intimidation or coercion? Thank you for the replies and great content
@JK-co4lz
@JK-co4lz 3 жыл бұрын
It is scary times. Especially when the L.E.'s are focusing on just dealing with the aftermath and if you used a gun, it's an easy arrest for their monthly quota for arrests since you're still around. Civilians just want to "feel" safe and if those numbers help ease their minds momentarily, then L.E.'s have done their job.

None of these laws effect law enforcement officers, they have the right to point a firearm at any person, armed or not, they can also shoot at any person and never be reprimanded for such action. These are the persons who should be controlled more often. Your explanation is always superseded by the officers statement, because they are only lying to save their job.
