1. Down Highway 1 half an hour is the town of Princeton, which contains the surf spot known as Mavericks. It only breaks big about 12 times a year, mostly in December but that's okay, it probably won't drop below 60º. If you guess right on the day, you can climb up on the bluff and see a truly violent break with some world class surfers. 2. High Noon. He shoulda opted for the Mexican Babe instead of the Ice Queen. 3. I always lived below my means, but the habit is so engrained in me that now I'm retired I struggle to spend it.

Capless is the same as Vanishing point. The Japanese call it capless so when we buy the Japanese exclusive steel nibbed version it translates to capless. Vanishing Point is a cooler name anyway

It is called the Capless in the whole Asian market. And not just the cheaper steel nibbed options, but the 18k gold pens too. Vanishing Point is really mainly the name in the North American market.

From what I know, “Vanishing Point” is what’s being used mainly in the US market while it’s called “Capless” in most of the other markets I.e., It’s not Gold Vs Steel that distinguishes VP from Capless. Feeling jealous ? No. I’m feeling depressed after watching those dead / deserted towns. This picture of Montana is totally different from what I’ve seen in many Montana based TV Shows - Yellowstone, Longmire, Big Sky, Justified etc..
@WaskiSquirrelАй бұрын
I love the name "Vanishing Point". It's so much more evocative than "Capless." I'm sorry this video depressed you. I love Ekalaka, MT. I'm actually considering that as a post-retirement teaching spot. And Camp Crook might have been a fun place to explore elementary teaching. Hollywood presents one view of the US...and then there is the reality. Ekalaka especially is a very cool town. The Hollywood version is really filmed in a limited selection of cities. And they miss how amazing places like Ekalaka are. But you gave me good ideas for next week!

Congratulations on your Pilot VP promotion. If you have a problem with the clip,I suggest and recommend the Dialog CC. Only issue is hard starts because the internal nib cover isn’t airtight. Did you try the metropolitan converter on your Pilot Vanishing Point?😊 PS There is a Lamy 2000 green version just out that would cost me $650 bucks Australian dollars so I’ve taken a pass on that one(cost of living pressures).

Another great video, thanks. I couldn't help wonder: Is the reason that you're so interested in Camp Crook and Ludlow, and the comparison to the Bulldog was because you were worried about your own town? It's a legitimate concern. The lure of the big city is strong. Just a comment: If you split your videos into "Pens in Use", and "Dashcam", I'd still watch all of them, but I'd be able to manage the time better. :-) It seems like a few people like this format so certainly don't change on my account. The first Evernote link didn't work for me, even after fixing 'waskisquirrel'. cheers
@WaskiSquirrelАй бұрын
Thank you for the comment on the Evernote link: They changed how they do links, and I've started having trouble since then. I'll submit another bug report to them. My own town is in danger, but that danger is a few decades in the future, and I'll be retired by then. I'm conflicted about these videos. Pens in Use is always on and off topic. I actually have some videos like the latter part in the hopper for release this winter. Some people like these combination videos. My compromise has been do do them infrequently and label them clearly. But you make a good point about time. I really need to do better about labeling videos clearly, doing good time stamps, and letting my viewers find what they want to view.

@@archivist17 If you are thinking about the Indiana Jones train scene, that really needs a lever fill pen. In the more general sense I think it has been superseded by internet bots.

It should be not shiney, not noisy, heavy duty/durable, + multi-purpose ... I think ... to be tactical but yeah ... a fountain pen lol... who knows!
@WaskiSquirrelАй бұрын
I think in this case, it's marketing rather than military. There is a certain aesthetic marketed as tactical, so I think the pen's metal build, strength, and pointy end are what lean it in that direction.
