Happy New Year, Waski! I'm just watching back to see the bit before I came in (and the bit after I fell asleep 😴)😂 I use J Herbin blotting paper. It's pretty effective. I buy it off eBay generally. 😱 Silvexa RIP 😢

On cheap paper in the US, watch the country of manufacture, if it is one which has a lot of bamboo or sugar cane you might find some that works well.

Good point! I've had several great notebooks with sugar cane content.

I have found that Platinum cartridges that come with the Preppy and Prefounte actually work on lower quality paper. I have some old Moleskine and Field Notes notebooks I'm trying to use up and I can't write in them with my other fountain pens and inks because the feathering and bleed through is so bad. But the ink in the Preppy and Prefounte works fine, with no feathering or bleed through. It's not the nicest looking ink, but if you want to be able to write on cheap paper while still using a fountain pen, it's worth picking up a Preppy, especially given that they're so cheap. I suppose you could even put one of those cartridges in a more expensive Platinum pen if you're wanting to use a nicer pen.

That's interesting about the Platinum. I suppose that's the same as regular Platinum ink in the standard colors? I am using that same legal paper today that I showed in the video. It certainly drinks up the ink, and it is actually kind of fun!

@WaskiSquirrel I'm not sure actually. I have never used platinum's bottled inks. But the cartridges that come with the preppy work fine on low quality paper. I may have to try to pick up a bottle of their standard blue black and their standard black ink and try them out... You know, for science!
