That was so much fun! I always enjoy poking through other people's stashes of this and that. The funny thing is that I was just reorganizing some of my pen paraphernalia before this video popped up. I have bottles of ink all over the place too. It's exactly as you said -- when I wanted a new treat and another pen seemed too expensive, a bottle of ink provided a modestly priced substitute. Now I've got enough to last three lifetimes.

It's crazy how those things build up over the years! My ink collection used to fit in a shoebox, and I couldn't imagine how I could ever outgrow that...

Great vid, Waski! So interesting to see all your pen & ink & related accessories. That old chemistry cabinet/box is waaay cool 😎! I’d love to have vintage toolboxes for my pens & inks. I very much respect your authenticity and appreciate that you’re not too concerned about showing your laundry! Haha! All the neighbors see it when it’s hung outside anyway. I like the outro music!

As a new wife living on my German in-laws’ farm, I was told we hang the sheets on the line nearest the road to avoid showing them our unmentionables.

Glad you enjoyed! No, not to shamed by my laundry. We all have it, whether hung on a line or put in a dryer.

I am always amazed at how many bottles of ink some people have in this hobby. When someone told me they had over 300 bottles, it woke me up, and I've stopped buying. I have 50 bottles and some samples.
@WaskiSquirrel23 күн бұрын
I'm glad I'm not at the 300 level, but I still have too many. I had a similar wake-up call and now I'm just focussed on using up what I have.

@WaskiSquirrel It's a good idea and what I'm doing, too.

Your grandfather made you some fantastic furniture! I love how your hobby is in every room. I don’t know how you cope with different ink in the wrong bottles without labelling them, it would give me so much anxiety but I’m also envious that you can do that. I too have piles of pens etc. that I plan on creating a video on but I never get round to it. Thank you for the tour ❤

My grandfather had a lot of talent. I got to make some furniture with him as well. Good memories. Yes, my hobby is spread. My house is very small, so it's not as spread out as it seems. And it's only a few unlabeled bottles...which have bit me once or twice!

I admire your commitment and focus on your 'hobby clutter'! At my age I will NEVER make it thru even a fraction of my ink... or books or fabric ...

I'm in that boat. There are lots of cool pens out there, but I am concentrating on using what I already have. No sense to keep getting more. Same thing with watches😅

It's crazy how it trickles in, one item at a time. It doesn't seem like much until you see it all together. My focus on just a few bottles at a time is helping me get through it...but I may be dead before I finish!

Loved the video! I have to say, I would love to see a video of your collection! One of the reasons your collection interests me so much is that, in my view, our collections/interests are quite similar.

Here's a tip I discovered: if you have a Starbucks nearby, go there and ask for a sheet of the circle stickers they use to keep their coffees from spilling through the drink hole. They are great to use as a label sticker on the top of ink bottles.
@WaskiSquirrel23 күн бұрын
My nearest Starbucks is about 180 miles away. But I'll bet I could find similar stickers locally: the ones used for yard sale prices. Thank you for the idea!

Dear Mr Waski...I so enjoyed the tour of your 'pen paraphernalia' we have all been here and mine was becoming quite suffocating so I worked very hard earlier this year and sold about 30-40% of pens, paper, ink and other related stuff. I now appreciate and look at what I have more so I feel better but I had to build myself up to doing it which was not easy either. Really enjoyed your personal storage options too, the chemistry set box was great and the shelf built by your grandfather- so memorable and touching. I was going to recommend Montegrappa Fuchsia ink which is beautiful but you might want to wait until you clear a few more bottles out- I have found their inks so well behaved and a joy in my older pens. Thank you ...Sweet Blessings Mand XOXO

I'm definitely waiting on any ink purchases. But my selection of inks does make it feel like I'm in an ink store when I use up an ink and need to replace it. But I'll be happier with fewer bottles... As for the pens, I'd like to do some selling.
@honeybee442321 күн бұрын
@@WaskiSquirrel I sold everything on eBay- start very low and you may be surprised how it draws people to your items. I was very satisfied with the sales. I also sold some of my inks in batches which was so much easier but it does take a considerable amount of effort. If you were nearer to me I would have loved to have helped you more but I know you can do it! Best of luck...Mand XOXO
