Gonna have to try that 5th gear shift style in my Z. Still havent figured out why it grinds but I will be changing the fluid in the spring time

I Had this issue with my 03 Z but it was 3rd gear I learned that I had to hold the clutch in for maybe 2/3 seconds to put it in 3rd and it would not grind from there on. But if I shifted quick it would definitely grind nasty. Now I have a 350z HR 08 but do not experience this problem.

It was likely because you came late to the show.. they usually let all cars in early in the mornings. Then towards the end they close it off. I've seen some beat cars get past and parked in the main lot most of the time. That really sucks..

Might have to rebuild the trans just for that 5th gear if it grinds even when the trans fluid is warmed up/hot. Can probably try thicker fluid just more time for it to warm up

My 370Z also has 5th gear grind when the transmission is cold. It will go away after like 20-30 min of driving but I’ve noticed the way I shift also affects this

I’ve owned my blue 350z for 7 years and always knew about 2nd or 5th grinding with our 350z transmissions, but never knew it was this common since I never experienced it until now with the Nismo. I never even knew it was a thing with 370z transmissions either until people started messaging me about it recently
