I met her through a great aunt who knows her through their common membership in a local garden club. If you can I'd suggest picking up a copy of the book she co-authored, The Golden Age of American Gardens: Proud Owners, Private Estates. It's a very well-researched, if dry tome and being the consummate name-dropper that she is Eleanor devoted the lion's share of the brief Maryland section of the book to the gardens of her grandparents and great-grandparents on her mother's side.

They don't really talk about themselves and certainly don't like being in the spotlight. Often times some of them dont even know of their own identity, as they are oblivious to it. They refer to themselves as simply "American" Some WASPS have never heard of the categorization of different European ethnic groups in America and that is why they are unaware of their cultural/ethnic heritage.

Kevon, if Eleonor is from the South then she definitely had seen what I had seen and heard words which I have heard. Once they had a group of Holy Rollers pitch up and started saying these words in town. I went back to New England and people asked about life in Virginia. I then made the mistake of mentioning theCharismatics, which probably prompted people calling me a Southern Belle behind my back. Worse yet I repeated their words, and an old man stared at me and replied, "What a horrible word."

The final separation from the upper and lower class. It is certain things or words they will not say, do or engage in because of the prestige they feel within themselves. They live for other people and not themselves. I feel as if they truly do not know how to have fun and be loose. And, I do not mean wild, I just mean live life. Have fun enjoy yourself and the money, yes it is okay to sit up straight and hold the proper utensil when eating, but by all means live life.

The fact that you don’t is the whole point. Most people don’t live in their world, and so, aren’t familiar with their objects, ideas and attitudes. It’s no different than if you went to a foreign country. Even if you look racially similar to the people there, even if speak the same language, you will stand out as different almost instantly. Having met Eleanor on a few occasions at gardening functions I can say that she is fact worse than she comes off here, but she is indeed the genuine article. She comes very distinguished old stock on both sides of her family, as did her first husband Peter Keyser. She went to Garrison Forest for school, summered in Nantucket, debuted at the Bachellors' Cotillon of 1957, and was raised at the estate Harmony Hall, in the heart of My Lady's Manor horse country (where she lives to this day).

I thought Irish were both catholics and protestants like the flag suggest. Catholics tried to take power from charlemagnes descendants after he died. Charged people to get into heaven. Killied the African Twa of ireland and Changed the original celtic religion and way of life to Catholicism. That is the celebration of St. Patrics Day. He Stripped the Irish of whom they were. There hasnt been real Irish people long before America. If your speaking of Catholics and Protestants then you can argue that all day. If protestans hadnt stoped catholics then. Catholicism would have srpead and they would have tried to take over the world like they did the Irish.
