Respect what you do. In 89 I was trimming a hedge in Akron Ohio. Unbeknownst to me there was a nest bigger than a basketball hidden within my path. Being it was summer I was in shorts and a tank top. I cut it right in half and the fun began. I couldn't run fast enough to get away from them. I took over 100 stings and I'm allergic. I went into shock and was only saved by a close private doctor's office, my city worker had to carry me in and they hit me with so much epinephrine that I was shaking for hours. I spent 1 month in Green hospital in Ohio. They said I was within minutes from suffocating. Anafalaxis shock is no joke.

5 days later a hornet tells his story: ... the only reason I survived is because I was off hunting for the colony. I came home expecting to be greeted by my loved ones. To my hearts dismay I walked right into hell. Our home which took entire lifetimes to build was completely destroyed. Our soldiers lay on the ground, some dead, some writhing, screaming in pain while gargling on their own blood as the white cloud took them. Our larva, met a similar fate. Those young lives snatched away by some ungodly deity. To be completely honest those deaths were a mercy. Living through it is the true horror of the Titan’s attack.

Last 2 times stung I had reactions. Even then I am not afraid of them. I like bees and such and don't bother them. In this case, being on a vent, they do need removal. Otherwise I say let them be, no pun intended.
