this is just my two cents as a random middle class millennial, but the “marble everything” trend seems to me like it’s been popularized by social media influencers and young celebs who are newly rich (or who are trying rly hard to seem rich) and marble is one of those materials they favor because it doesn’t really require much design thought, and because we regular people associate it with wealth. This is one of my pet peeves too!!! I HATE all white and I HATE all neutrals. Ghastly, unimaginative, and stressful. 5. I don't mind a mosaic tabletop --outside in the garden, but the plain tile seems odd to me. Hard pass. 6. Huh--I didn't know people were showing the LED strips everywhere all Willy nilly. I agree, best hidden. 7. Now this depends upon the style of house. If the architecture calls for it, then it's best to work with it rather than against it. As for Boho--phooey. I love it, so you simply must be ignored! LOL 8. The 80s is a decade best left in the past. In the 90s, my mom was on a South-West design kick, so I don't remember the other 90s trends. Nice tip about the LED strip lights. I was expecting to get offended going into this video, but wasn't lol. I've been using those LED strips for a few years, because I think they give a "futuristic", cyberpunk-y vibe to a place, and I love being able to change the color to give my place an entirely different vibe. So I kinda resent the kids on tiktok who kinda made it trendy for a while, and then making it considered cringy 😞 Oh well, I'm still keeping my LEDs.

I always say all white or all grey interiors literally make me feel uneasy and everyone always tells me I'm crazy because "it's supposed to look neat and clean". I don't know about you, but even hospitals aren't this unsettlingly pristine. Also I totally agree on the marble!

People shouldn't be upset about your opinion. At the end of the day, what matters in your own space is your own opinion. You're the one who has to live there.

Ahahaha! Because everyone was so upset, I decided to do another one! ❤️ I could see the mischief coming from a mile away. :) The ending of this video is awesome. You are the antidote to the sickness of cancel culture.

All grey is so hard to look good, too. With the warm greys and cool greys and neutral greys do not go together, all the time. You’re so right.

All stark white and marble everything is one of my biggest gripes so I love being validated lol. It just feels so trite. But also, I can see why rich people do it bc having the money to keep everything clean all the time is definitely an invisible status symbol.

I don't like when someone has a gorgeous old wood piece and paints it white, You have take all the value out of that piece by doing that. It does not bother me if the piece is not an antique.

@@thatonedog819 Is it wood and do you still have it? If so make it a project. You can sand it and bring back the wood. Pick a stain color you love and think you'll like for a long time. If your nervous to do it try a test spot in the back.

I saw an interior design show where they got a GORGEOUS HUGE SLAB OF REDWOOD FOR A TABLETOP AND PUT DUMB INSPIRATIONAL WORDS IN IT and I was so angry. Not the same thing, but similar. I hate when people think beautiful wood needs to be covered up
