this is just my two cents as a random middle class millennial, but the “marble everything” trend seems to me like it’s been popularized by social media influencers and young celebs who are newly rich (or who are trying rly hard to seem rich) and marble is one of those materials they favor because it doesn’t really require much design thought, and because we regular people associate it with wealth. No offense to anyone’s favs but I think of James Charles / ACE Family types. The downside now is that it’s become so common and over-used that it’s no longer really impressive or cool, it’s just kinda boring and bordering on tacky yaknow

1. Pillows--seems snuggly to me. Suitable for winter. 2. Good gods--I've never heard of that before and hope I never do again. Agree--get rid of it. 3. Marble is a wonderful stone--very suitable for Kitchen countertops. But I agree that not every surface in the ho!e needs to be marble. Faux marble isn't suitable for anything. 4. This is one of my pet peeves too!!! I HATE all white and I HATE all neutrals. Ghastly, unimaginative, and stressful. 5. I don't mind a mosaic tabletop --outside in the garden, but the plain tile seems odd to me. Hard pass. 6. Huh--I didn't know people were showing the LED strips everywhere all Willy nilly. I agree, best hidden. 7. Now this depends upon the style of house. If the architecture calls for it, then it's best to work with it rather than against it. As for Boho--phooey. I love it, so you simply must be ignored! LOL 8. The 80s is a decade best left in the past. In the 90s, my mom was on a South-West design kick, so I don't remember the other 90s trends. Last --there's no shame in having an honest opinion. More people lack the courage to try it. I'd rather disagree with someone openly rather than never know what they actually think.

I personally hate the tile tables much more than the foam objects, the foam objects at least are self aware that they are weird, it's not really meant to look classy it's supposed to look organic and funky and experimental. The tile tables just look like public bathrooms, but for your living room!

I throughly enjoyed this week’s rant about More S.Y.S.S.D & thank you for being gentle & real about MCM decor. Vintage is always the way to go when it comes to this style as well as any other classical decor. However, big box stores & monopoly online companies have completely mainstreamed & ruined the luxe elegance of this beautiful style. Keep it vintage! TFS

Nice tip about the LED strip lights. I was expecting to get offended going into this video, but wasn't lol. I've been using those LED strips for a few years, because I think they give a "futuristic", cyberpunk-y vibe to a place, and I love being able to change the color to give my place an entirely different vibe. So I kinda resent the kids on tiktok who kinda made it trendy for a while, and then making it considered cringy 😞 Oh well, I'm still keeping my LEDs.
