I'm a little bit worried about the solution set to food waste. This would result in less people buying it, which leads to companies putting higher prices on their food. This makes food even harder to obtain for the low class communities wherever this takes action. Sure, the difference could range between a dollar and seven dollars, but it does make a difference

Here is a novel idea...get a few chickens to feed your food scraps to and get eggs!!!!! Chickens eat everything including meat...you don't need to be a scientist or have a massive infrastructure and financing to figure this out!!!!!

Mass production of chickens, obviously the best idea around. I believe this situation is a lot more complex than you make it out to be

Majority of homes in big cities don't have a backyard or it's illegal to have chicken in them

They can already retool and use silicone based products. They can be used to replace everything from car bodies and phone housings to furniture and our traditional food packaging.. but factories are not interested in doing so. It is highly recyclable as well (depends on what else is added) Food waste could be reclaimed and turned into animal feed, plastics recycled and even turned into fuels, but they don't do that either.. why? Money.

So are going to rely on tuna fishing nets to kill off all the dolphins? Or do you have some other great invention we can dump in the ocean to plug up their blowholes? After the dolphins eat all the fish it is going to be too late.

Okay....so have you got a better solution? I am vegan too.... but this has the potential to decrease a lot of food waste...and get rid of plastic too....win win really....we could use artificial milk made in labs?

The casein being sprayed on food sounds fucked up man, seriously ! I bring my own reusable bags with me when I shop - if more humans made this a mandatory practice for themselves then they would be making an impact. I don't want artificial nothing if I have a choice.

Casein-plastic is the future. Anyone who uses plastic foodware is subhuman.
