I did the vault 88 quest line. I left it alone with 5 ppl. 1 of them left because she had a mightier than though attitude. Lol, I became the new overseer i build a crappy little building filled with a bunch of beds. came back to rebuild using your videos. and saw 27 people standing around huddled together complaining of no beds and no food. and getting ticked off. :( I hope as I progress through your vids you have plenty of food and water to feed these ungrateful curs. And thank you for the builds they are great.

1) Your trim isn't uniform because you're using Atrium Mid pieces on the bottom. You should use all Atrium Bottom Walls/Doors. 2) In your gym you said they have no inner corner pieces, but they do. They're right there in the menu with the other security pieces.

I'm not sure I know what you're talking about. Considering that each wall or hallway piece uses like 6-8 steel to build, I don't think it's possible for me to use only 1 steel every 10 minutes, lol. Trust me, I use up my resources super fast in these builds. It's possible you saw me reusing stored pieces, thus they wouldn't use up any additional resources to use again. Sometimes I have quite a few pieces stored up from other ideas I ended up not keeping.

THANK YOU! You're the first KZbinr that I've seen that's actually just sat down and just built the Vault up! I don't have the game (or a PS4 for that matter) so this is really the only way I can really get into the game till I can get my own copy ya know? But everyone I've seen so far has just kinda done some basics and then just focused on finishing the quest line. Sure, it's fine to finish the quest line, but I've been looking for someone to try and just see what it takes to build in this place! So thank you, THANK YOU for doing the other side of this game, the building section, which is honestly my favorite part of this game, to begin with. Like I had an idea to just have the residential areas be where the train platforms are because of how out of the way they are from the rest of the Vault and how they could fit more than one room possibly in the platforms themselves. And how I figured I could make my own head cannon that the part of the Vault where the Uranium is located has a "locked, No Acess" door or some such... Oh, and if I may make a request? Is it possible to edit the area you first come in on to clean it up and give it light? Another thing that I haven't seen anybody doing is cleaning that up and just leaving it as they first find it or scraping most of it for parts. I mean, it's a pre-built part of the vault, why wouldn't people use it right? You already have a premade security room and a generator room that, I think, can be redone to power the vault itself!....anyway I'm rambling...gonna sub now. Thanks for being amazing!

I really couldn't care less about quest DLCs, lol. And you know what? That's exactly where I was planning on putting the settler's quarters too! And yes, I plan on using the pre-made part of the vault too. I haven't cleaned it up yet, but I will be once I've got more of it built up.

Wasteland Dovahkiin Holy crap, I thought I was the only one! Small world or something :3 The one thing I'm worried about putting the settlers quarters down there is to somehow get the floors and walls to mesh up with the train tunnels and to somehow try to figure out how to make it all look seamless with the broken buildings you have to walk through sometimes. My only other concern (for my own game...whenever I get it) is to figure out how to make a head cannon for the Water Distiller part of the Vault that gives you a reason to walk down there.

I'm so confused. I followed this guide exactly (so far), and the part where u talk about putting a gym and some 1×4 room, I have no space. It's too close to the wall by the entrance. Either that, or ur FOV settings are confusing me. 😅 This is a great guide so far tho. I acknowledge that maybe I messed up, but I won't know until it's done, I guess. Edit: NVM my previous comment. I DID mess up. It was literally on the VERY FIRST piece too. 🤦🏻‍♂️😂 I didn't place that piece on the door first, so my spacing was off and had to go back a bit and readjust pieces. I'm just glad I caught that mistake early, or I woulda scrapped the whole thing and just said "nope. 👏"

You can assign settlers to beds. So just build a bed for her, and assign her to it, and she won't sleep in yours anymore. Glad you've been enjoying the videos. :)

20:24 - I'm sure you've already found it by now, but they _do_ have the corner piece you're talking about. I was actually confused as to where it would be used, until I saw in video where it would go. It replaces the paired ceiling/floor pieces, but it has a thin bar in one corner connecting the two.

In terms of "realism" and "immersion", I wouldn't just put an elevator without stairs in there. Because, you know, elevators need power to work, stairs don't! And elevator shafts are basically like a big chimney that will suck up smoke in case of a fire. Of course if there was a fire in an enclosed area like this you would be pretty screwed beause there would be nowhere for the smoke to go. And yes, I know, it's "just a game", but I like to keep things "actually accurate" and "immersive" ... Also, I am not going to say anything about "you using the wrong parts for the atrium" because this video is old and you probably already know it by now ... Anyways, always great to see somebody building stuff! EDIT: All the lights are kind of like "spotlights" because you can't "restrict" light to a room in the settlement building mode. If they had a bigger "light radius", they would shine through walls ... If you are making a mod (in the Creation Kit), you can set up things called "lightboxes" that will "confine" lights to a room and prevent them "shining through the walls". But you can't do that in workshop mode ... Yes, there are "shadow lights" that actually work like real lights (don't shine through things) but they take up HUGE ammounts of CPU / GPU power, so you should have as little of those as possible. Especailly in a big interior space as V88... (without optimization, like roombounds, which is anohter thing you can't to in workshop mode. It is a system that only "draws" the stuff in the room that you currently are and the things you can see through things like doors. But "dynamic world editing" and optimization just don't work together!)

Great build, thanks for the vids! I know someone mentioned this but rather tersely, when joining two opposing corners, there is an inside corner piece to joint corners at 90 degrees and separated in the right angle. For the "Bottom Atrium" I use corner and for the second level and higher, I use Atrium Mid Corners to build those rooms. That can be joined with Atrium ceiling with Atrium mids at the top. :) I will be watching the rest soon!

To fix that corner section at 22:03 remove the big prefab end piece and use the regular end to snap the ceiling pieces, then use the Corner Bottom piece for that corner.

+Wasteland Dovahkiin i have a good DLC for ya, "Fallout Shelter" in "Fallout 4", i mean that the settlers(every npc, character) will see settlers starts and train/teach them in traits you need them on, and can set certain settlest to be scavangers that go out to the wasteland and caheter all kinds of stuff (the better certain stats the better and speciffic kind depending on traits of stuff it will gather). There can be a exploration station that you can set up each character, and they will be out untill they get too hurt, or full load(max carry weight). You can set them to auto repeat or only go once (wiht auto repeat all the same setup/gear will be taken each time even if some items like stimpacks, ammo or something other is used up). As i mentioned the better in certain stats the better or more stuff they will bring. They bring all the same stuff you can, meaning if they have good scavenging they will bring more ammo back than they use. (Ps i qhing hearing something that you can make bullets so this is perfect with this kind of dlc. Does not matter what settelment, bunker or what shoulb work anywhere where you will build the exploration situation "room" (/stuff). Even can be a good mod if someone wanna make it.. It will be good with the "IncreasedSettlerPopulation" mod and some bunkbed mod and some of the automated/better food mods, as the settlers are not in the settelment, but you can still be able to use them (ok they will be in the settelment while u train them :D). Just a thought..

You said about the transition to the stairs, there is a part that connects to the stairs for the rails, if you look at the stairs in vault 81 you will notice that all the stairs have a small section of the bridge attached to them, that is where the transition to the stairs is.

My character is maxed out of doing sneak attack damage. Using The Last Minute and a stored critical in VATS targeting her "spouts" is a one-shot kill. Super-sweet!

I'm pretty sure the floor with the thing popping out of it is the bottom level inner corner you just have to pop out the floor you already have there. Idk haven't messed with the vault in a wile but I believe that's what there used for

Re: closing off corners...20:50ish Maybe by now you know this, but just in case you don't. There is a floor only piece with a skinny metal looking thing sticking up off one corner. That is the piece you use to cover the corners. Oh and there is one for each floor type too. I know this is old but thought maybe I could help someone like me just watching for the first time. Thank you for the video's ...... In part 2 of this series you talk about already knowing how to power up the vault but a lot of us don't, I wish you would have explained powering more maybe you do in a future video. I hope so. I have a hallway next to the entrance to my overseer's office that leads behind the back wall of my atrium where the overseer's window is located so she can spy on the atrium whenever she wants but the dwellers never know if she's watching. An elevator leading down to the cavern areas outside the vault would be useful for me as a player and for the creepy "vault tec is everywhere" vibe I'm going for.

If you use common o maybe in security, the last piece, is a floor and a top with a small union if you use it in the piece that are between the corners, it makes you a perfect corner.

Grow up in the 80s with open world games & construction with generic pieces to build So fallout 4 right up my alley but my god it's so frustrating to build I was dreading building my own vault 88, as the so many good vault's with mod's and with out As I like the creative and brainsmart to take figure out things So i watched your first video about 3 times, made few things different I put a domestic room for the the security Built a overseers bedroom connecting the overseers office In the atrium with the door way leading up to overseers office I put neon signs saying where the door was going 2nd video with your help I built off atrium built two doors ways opposite where you demonstrating in this video, making a u-shaped hallway connecting barbers and the cafetiere Trying to do exactly what you did in hallway and the 4 hall way Managed to build a clinic but struggled to build the gym as I didn't have the same space as you did

There's a piece that all rooms have for corners it's the same thing but it has a little pillar in one corner so it looks nice

there is a reverse corner piece in all the room tabs, they are near the right end of those tabs

the corner rail that goes to your stairs, if you replace with a rail thats not round at the end it will look like its conected to the stairs
