Was never into punk, but had much respect for the energy & creativity. I would go to this in a heartbeat. Looks great! Sad that so many of the punk OGs (70s, 80s) are dead and gone. These people didn't live a clean life & it caught up to them much earlier than should have.

I think the greatest accomplishment that has been achieved by the opening of this museum is that it brings more bands together and shatters the conflict between generations of punk which in my opinion is for the better. I'm saying this and I'm a young 23 year old punk rock "elitist". But whatever bands in there I consider punk or not, I can wholeheartedly agree to treating music as something that unites people rather than ripping the scene apart. In the end, we all share a common belief in the freedom of expression. In other news, I'm pretty bummed I never got to see NoFX live. Thankfully, there is a next best thing here for those who are probably suffering the same fate as me. Odds are, our punk rock heroes will be at this museum waiting to give us a tour face to face. Meeting in-person and within arms reach to me sounds more ideal than just watching them play on stage only to walk out once they're done. Cheers! May the Ramones live on.

Looking forward to seeing this with the two ‘J’s’ tonight! Hope you are feeling a little better after your diabetes episode Jason lovely man? I did think of you a couple of days ago, my dear sis Gail also had a diabetes episode too. She for no reason went into HYPER, thankfully she had hubby with her, they had to call an ambulance her blood sugar read was 12 she was rushed to our A& E at hospital, where she was given the hugest bag of liquid drip in her arm that I’ve ever witnessed ( and I’m a very experienced hospital attendee having been born disabled with rheumatoid arthritis myself). Thank goodness sis is doing better but I did think of you and how ill you felt after Pretzelgate! I send much 💜 to you and hope you have your levels under better control now. Sending much 😘 to Johnny too ( but I bet you will not physically pass on my 😘😘😘 to handsome Johnny?!😉💜💜💜

Thanks for sharing! Kinda hard to wrap my head around the idea of putting up a Punk museum anywhere else but in NYC. (I’m from north Jersey and go way back as well). But it looks like a great place to check out if you’re in Vegas ✔ They could have made one entire room dedicated to the Ramones!

Haha, first time seeing the outside of this place, and it's a nice touch that they're using Friz Quadrata as the font on the building (as seen on a gazillion Bad Religion, Black Flag, and Offspring album covers).

I was born in early '78, so the >1990 sections are what I grew up with in Salt Lake City. I'll never, ever forget hearing Bad Religion's "Suffer" for the first time on Radio Free Utah late one Sunday night while my buddy and I were waiting for the Industrial Music Hour. NIN, Skinny Puppy, Ministry, etc. were our favorites during long, bleak, grey winters, but that shit moved to the back of the line quick to make room for fast, sunny California skate punk. (I still listen to "Too Dark Park" and "Pretty Hate Machine" at least once a year though, ha.) My insatiable obsessions with history, music, and even geography took it from there! Soon thereafter I moved to a small city north of Las Vegas and began driving down to the Huntridge Theater for killer shows, then driving the two hours home afterwards and somehow making it to class the next day. ANYHOO, all of this to say; there's a soft spot in my heart for Las Vegas and punk rock. I need to get down there asap.

I bought a Ramones t-shirt in 1979 from a record store in the mall. They sold the shirts wrapped on a piece of cardboard the size of an LP. Unfortunately, I was too small to fit into it for a couple of years even though it was a “small”. I wish I knew where it wound up. Also, I’d like to see if there are any hardcore bands in the museum. There were a lot of stand-out NY and Midwest bands that deserve attention.

Isn't it funny how everything eventually no matter how extreme ends up in a museum. I mean the Sex Pistols actually scared the shit out of people at one time. I'm sure they never expected anyone to honor them one day. All the Ramones except for Marky are dead and yet we still have Howard Stern. What a weird world. I'll probably check it one day.

Nice video man, museum looks pretty decent, a more grimy look may suit it better tho.
