My girlfriend was a big Pete Loran fan when these guys came out. I was working at KNAC at the time, so when they played the Whiskey in Nov 1990, I took her to the show. We got inside early and Pete was just leaning against a table wearing the exact clothes from the "Give It to Me Good" video. I told her to go say "Hi," but she was completely starstruck and couldn't move. Lucky for me -- we've been married 23 years.

One thing I like about that band is they didn’t care about making money at all being richer famous they were just living their young dreams watching their bands they grew up with and getting involved with them. What an awesome experience.

What a great interview. Clearly Gus is an energy kinda guy and that made it enjoyable and fun to listen to. 3/4 of the way through it was apparent that they needed a manager and for half of them (apparently) to seem lackadaisical about the amazing albums they made recently is so bewildering to me. Those two albums are phenomenal. Their friendship will bring them back around, I think....but you’re smart in taking the mediator (and maybe future manager) route is what they definitely need. First step is to get Steve on here to talk next...get him realizing what could be.

What could be? A 4th rate cheeseball generic band that helped to turn people off from hard rock and contributed to the rise of grunge. I don't think there's too much fortune in store for them even if they were all on speaking terms. I suppose they could try to do some weekend fly in dates opening for someone from the era who was better like Warrant or Night Ranger. How much demand can there really be for a Trixter, Britny Fox, Danger Danger, Steelheart type of band in 2021?
@misterreality3 жыл бұрын

@@misterreality i think the "cream of the crop" can still pull in an audience and that is a very small group of bands. Here's an idea: CheeseFest 2021 Headlined by platinum selling Nelson with support from Trixter and Britny Fox. Who will go on before Nelson? Every night there will be a cage fight match between Fox and Trix to determine who gets that slot. It'll be a great night of cheesy music and hard-core fighting.

Jason, I am no sure how I stumbled upon your KZbin interviews, probably a blabbermouth facebook post, but I have got to say, I have spent the last week going down the rabbit hole, watching a lot of your stuff, and it's really great. Growing up in NJ and moving to LA in 1989 to go to Musician's institute, you are a total amalgamation of the east coats guys I grew up with and the guys I met in LA. And your interview style reminds me a lot of how Howard Stern interviews people these days. How you keep a timeline and ask questions and talk about things that we don't get to hear in other interviews. The one skill Howard has is that he has taught us that everyone has a story and you don't necessarily have to care for that person's art to appreciate their story. This interview is a classic example. Even though I am from NJ, I wasn't really looking to hear what the drummer from Trixter had to say. But you made the interview interesting and enjoyable. And your comment about Pete dying his hair is exactly what I have been telling people about Bon Jovi for years. Keep up the great work buddy. I subscribed. I have spent the pandemic using KZbin for two things. Teaching myself how to make better recordings of my band and how to make great Neapolitan pizza. And now I can add wasting time with Jason Green to that list.

Agree 100%. When I went to GIT, everyone was always taken back with the East Coast guys, it's a mix of up front, honesty, in your face kinda mentality.

This interview is over 3 years old and I recently was able to see Trixter Live 3/24 with Pete playing a few songs. The show was so awesome but missing something it was Gus!!! Who would have thought a drummer would be so essential to the band. Now hearing this interview and going back listening to Audio Machine and Human Era for the 1st time in the year 2024 and now Pete has his new song out. These guys need to get the band back together!!! Jason go play manager!! A band that has so much potential especially now. The bands out touring in 2024 Cinderella, LA Guns, Faster Pussy Cat, Lita Ford, Slaughter and so much more I have seen more band post Covid from this era since the 90’s. 🤞Trixter your fans still out there waiting for the reunion and it “Beats me up” !!!

I was at the Ritz show and saw them. Ironically, I remember meeting the band in Wilkes-Barre PA. We and a few friends went up to see them but we couldn't get in because it was a 21 and over club. The guys were hanging out talking to some fans. Me and my friends asked them where the venue was and they asked who we were going to see. We were like, "Trixter". PJ and Gus were hanging out and said, "That's us!" So I parked my car. Me and my friends went over to meet them. I would see them at various places and because I was hanging out backstage. When they got the KISS tour, I hung out with Gus at Stabler Arena and we were chatting after the concert was over. Gene Simmons was womanizing (LOL), Gus and I were sitting on the staircase leading into the backstage catering area. Gus and I look at Gene and I say to Gene, "Gene, we envy you." And Gene being cocksman he is retorts, "It's my job!" LOL What a great night. Gus is a great guy. Hope to run into him again. Come out to Vegas, sir! I live out here too!

Not exactly true maybe . I saw in an old JBJ documentary video. They were in the studio deciding some stuff. Richie said some ideas, Jon immediately disagreed. And Richie just say I was just trying to suggest an options, but Jon replied, no..we can decide on that now. My point is..Jon have the final say in the band. Richie is just a hired gun just that he get more credits cos he co-wrote some songs. So Richie didn't get new sound. Jon changed directions on keep the faith album.

It's amazing how a song like line of fire would be considered "hard" for 1990 standards, and this was the song to establish their "rock credibility.". Given how heavier "heavy" music has become since then, a song like that today would be considered top 40, at best if not even adult contemporary .
