Oz Fox is one heck of a Guitar Player, and a singer as well. He has a heart of gold. Always humble and always had the right to have "Rock Star Ego" but he chose to be like Christ and walks with everyone and does not carry any chip on his shoulders. He has made so many great songs and I have met and seen him many of times in California! Oz Fox is so well rounded a a a guitar player he could play anything and runs circles around a hell of a lot of Guitar Players! God Bless Oz love this 🐱 Cat! !

Wow, very well said, I had a sort of eureka momment when I processed what you wrote and more than anything it’s just solid Logic because for someone that’s has and is going through as much as Oz, he’s cool as a cucumber. Now for a not so biblical comparison, like Diamond Dave says, “you gotta roll with the punches to get to what’s real.” Lol

Oz is truly an ignored legend by the guitar community. People make a big deal over Dime, Zakk Wylde, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Plini, etc but rightfully so. Oz can shred like the rest of them. I guess because of being in Stryper, he gets ignored. I think he deserves more recognition.

I LOVED Stryper back in the day (Soldiers Under Command, THWTD), then I couldn't appreciate any of the later stuff until I heard Yahweh. That is the best Stryper song ever. Blood from Above is also excellent. These dudes do their best work when they let their heaviness and their boldness for their faith rule. Second Coming was also unexpectedly incredible. I normally never prefer newer recordings of songs I loved before, Second Coming was great. This was a great interview Jason. Oz is such a genuine man. I am praying for him. I am subbing to your channel because of this interview. Keep up the great work!

I love hearing him talk about Against The Law. To me that is far and away their best album and one of the best hard rock/metal albums of all time. The production by Tom Wernan is so good and even though it’s 30 years old sounds like it was recorded yesterday.

I couldn’t agree more! Against The Law is my favorite Stryper album and the production, songwriting, and performances (especially Oz’s guitar work) are the best of any Stryper album! I definitely like their last 4 albums, but I still wish they’d go back to the Against The Law style.

IT IS their best album. No question! Even Wikipedia says something like "For the majority of music critics it is their best album to date" or around those lines. It's because IT IS! Michael HATES IT with a passion. He hates to talk about it. Probably because it is the album with less participation from him, I don't know. Who knows. But it's their best.

41:50 I was most definitely not a Christian when I heard and started listening to Striper. I was living on Oahu at the time and it was real late 80’s. Started getting Stryper music - had a ‘goth girl’ friend of mine that would really tease me for listening to ‘that Christian music’ stuff along with mockingly she would sing ‘Always There For Me.’ Looking back on it, I understand what happened. This non-Christian had a change of heart and “The lady doth protest too much, methinks". Who gets MAD and a God is doesn’t exist? Methinks maybe one should talk to Him instead. To this day, I still have the original vinyl record of Yellow and Black Attack that I got in a record store in Kailua, Hawaii.

Glen actually ended up in my then ex drum teachers band Drew Forsyth of Quiet Riot fame with Craig Turner on guitar. Craig is the actual guy who took over Randy Rhoads overflow of students when Randy went to England for the Ozzy gig at Musonia. I was Drews student and tech I was there. Stryper ironically opened for Network four times. One I vividly remember at the L.A. street scene in 1984. Oz aka Richard is a great dude. Followed Stryper from the beginning. Always a great show. Ha WASP at the Troub I was at that show!! I was shell shocked by them, Blackie whipping his hair around and throwing meat into the audience and the rack.

I’ve been a Stryper fan since first hearing Soldiers Under Command as a 15 year old back in 1985, so there are tons of songs I love from the many Stryper albums...but your playing, style, and tone on Against the Law are my favorite of any Stryper album! What you did on that album is right up there with some of the best guitar heroes of that era and you deserve more recognition for it!

I saw the In God We Trust Tour, it was awesome. Hurricane opened. It was a smaller venue gig in Joplin, Missouri Also seen the Against the Law gig with Bride opening another smaller venue, in Springfield, Mo. Michael was sick that night, Oz was watching him pretty close, asking him several times how he was doing. It was a great show, nonetheless, but I could tell Michael was hurting that night.

What's funny looking back was that he was already a rock star in 1985.... yet when we were talking he was concerned he was getting to old to "make it" lol. Stryper were the first international act I saw on their first trip down under in 87, I managed to catch a bible that they threw into the crowd which I was fortunate enough to get Tim Gaines to sign after the show.
