@@imaginarypath7867 I possess all of Turner's videos. What he does is unmatchable, I must admit that. But Forte has a special quality and clean style at gambling expose that Turner can't match. If you watch his "Gambling Protection Series" dvd set or read his new, monumental two-volume book "Forte years of Gambling" you will understand why he is undoubtedly the world's top authority on Gambling.

Forte is the best to ever do it. He once visited Marlo in Chicago and held court at Carmen's. Marlo didn't take his eyes off his hands. Then he told Bill Malone that Forte was the real deal. Marlo didn't just say that about anybody. Lol

@thejimyyy of course, but to be fair. Forte is almost non-existent online in the internet age. And he is willing to demonstrate any move from his books, which he admits he probably can't do as well as he used to. I'd say Forte is the real deal. He's no magician demonstrating gambling. He'd sit in a real game and leave w the money and we'd thank him lol

To magicians and laymen Richard Turner might be King. To us gamblers and card mechanics, Steve Forte is God.

Just you know.. Turner isn't magician, he's a card mechanic, just watch his documentary video. I think he's still the best, because he has no sight.. and no one can control the entire deck of cards like him.... watch his video on Russia TV how he can produce 4 of card ( Top, bottom, and middle) even the spectator shuffling the card first. And i think Forte isn't even close like him, because he still use his eyes to see card and just do the regular moves like second, center or bottom dealing, stacking the deck.. just like other magician, i'm not too impressed.
@stanleygomez679
@stanleygomez679 2 жыл бұрын
@@badbeater666-y5w seems to me you aren't aware of what kind of card deck Turner uses, when he asks the public to shuffle the deck before producing those aces from top bottom and centre deals. Just give it a little thought and you might figure it out. Or ask any card mechanic, he'll tell you. Once you learn the method, don't go public and let others know. We'd do well in keeping these master card mechanics' secrets, secret.

@@badbeater666-y5w if you care to read my other comments on Steve Forte and Richard Turner, you'll realize that I am an advocate in keeping gamblers' secrets. Turner does things (and not only with cards) that are really incredible, and I have a lot of respect for him. But Forte has a more natural hold on the deck and his style at dealing supersedes Turner. Also his patter line puts the icing on the cake. The great Ed Marlo held him in the highest esteem above all others. Daniel Madison holds Forte as his mentor upon witnessing his incredible Gambling Demo. I have all of Forte's and Turner's DVD's plus most of all the other gambling videos and spent a lifetime reading articles on gambling. My advice to you is: read the book "The phantom of the card table" about Walter Irving Scot and you'll get an idea about how Turner's blind poker deal is effected. We are all entitled to our opinion and our wishes might differ. And when I comment on gambling and card mechanics, believe me, I do my homework before posting them.

@@stanleygomez679 I saw DVD " The Cardmens Get Together" which hosted by Forte, Turner, John England, Bruce Samboy, and other magicians and card experts in 2005 I saw also a footage when Turner shows his game to Forte, he holds a deck of cards and producing the 4 Aces after Forte shuffling it.. he can do with other different moves and finally, Forte amazes to him. Forte is good and quickly for handling & controlling the card.. i also learned from him in gambling protection, but still he can't do what a do from Richard Turner.... i also have questions about how Richard can easily controlling a deck of cards and producing some cards when someone shuffling and cutting it. On that DVD, Forte can show that Turner's deck is normally deck, not a stripper or any gimmicked deck, if someone can explain truthly, i can pay for that 😆😆 If Turner not blind, i think his skill is more powerfull than other Cardmens on this planet.. but, he's still best of the best cardmen.

I suspect this misconception comes from conflating the term with another common among gamblers: a pool shark. However, when it comes to card cheating, the term "sharp" is well-established, such as in the 1894 book "Sharps and Flats," which discussed the moves of a card cheat.

@@w00master Correct! and etymologically speaking, Sharp, or rather 'Sharper' predates the use of the word Shark in print. I think an American ear, listening in, may have misheard it and started using the word Shark, and it caught on. The phonetics of both words are too alike for it to be serendipitous.
