Seems like a good mechanic you got there, better keep him around, they are getting hard to find! I deal with a local VoMack dealership, lease trucks, and I swear they couldn't diagnose their way out of a cardboard box! Engine light comes back on just days later. Can't wait for more video on the 4300! Enjoy the videos on the gliders too, I've wondered about how well people actually like them, how well they hold up. Expensive as hell if you want a Pete glider with a CAT

Agreed. Dealerships don't pay their people well enough. Getting 180 an hour for a fancy building and a bunch of suit fat at the top. But the ground floor getting maybe 1/5 of that is BS. No incentive to thrive, Excell or be efficient. Doesn't even help to save time because dealers usually rape customers and bill the full Rete regardless. It's a sad sad symphony.

I would have run an injection spray test to verify the injector is dosing properly. Quickest troubleshoot with no guessing.

Seen that a few times myself. I'm a Volvo/Mack master tech. In my experience people just fix the problem without trying finding what caused the issue to begin with. A leaking DEF doser will cause all sorts of issues. My favorite is the P20EE00 fault lol see it all the time.

I'm not 100% sure for the reason of the valve recession and breakage issue. Usually happens around cylinder 6 and 5. People think it's because of the increased heat because of the egr valve being near those cylinders. But I've seen it happen on all of them. The mack MP8 doesnt have the valve issue like the D13. Mack has different tuning and that's about it so who knows the reason. The SCR rarely fails. Usually it only does if its contaminated with coolant or oil from engine failure. They do wear out though they are good for around 1 million miles. It's a hard trigger to pull replacing a 8k part

@@polarisboy67 I suspect valve breakage due to ether starts when they are experiencing hard start condition. I've only done 5 heads because of a broken valve on I-Shift.

2014 Mack MP8. Last night display pops up poor def quality, parked regen required. Performed regen but message still on dash. No check engine light. I perform a second regen with my OTR Performance regen tool, still the message is there and derate was near. I filled my def Monday evening. Hopefully just water downed def. I will syphon the def tank and refill with fresh tomorrow and do a forced regen. Hopefully this solves my issue. What would be your opinion? No leaks detected along the system.

Hi there I have this def build up and leaking from the flex bellow pipe I have change the doser then changed flex pipe clamps and gasket and sealed the hairline crack near the doser but still it’s leaking def I don’t know what else to do Please help

They are the same for the most part. The MP8 has different tuning that represents the torque and power curve mack is known for. And they seem to have way less issues than a D13 by far.

There's plenty of ways to delete, but you would be in violation of emission laws.
