WATCH: Aftermath of Luas and Dublin bus collision at Smithfield

Eight people have been hospitalised following a collision between a Luas tram and a bus. The incident happened on Queen Street in Smithfield around 7am this morning.

I was once asked by Police to drive a 1938 London Double Decker Bus. I explained that whilst I was Willing, My Driver's License didn't cover Double Decker Buses. They explained, no problem because I would be doing it Under Police Direction and I would have a Police Escort, so I agreed. There were 8 Police Motorcycles Escorting Me and 12 Police Officers riding aboard My Bus; 8 Upstairs and 4 behind Me on the lower Deck. Surprisingly following this little Adventure, I was notified a few days later that My Driver's License was now endorsed for Driving Double Decker Buses.

That junction comes up a lot for the wrong reasons! 3003 was involved in this one - 2019. 3002 was involved in the 2009 collision with the No.16 bus, but on O'Connell Street.
