I’m loving my SSL controllers, UF1, UF8 and UC1.. they are enjoyable in feel and looks. To be honest I’m using perhaps 50% if what they are capable of as I am more interested in developing my listening and balancing skills than I am wrestling with macros and setting up the tiniest of details in favour of my trackball. Kindest regards to all from Vice Squad London UK 🙂🇬🇧

same here. I had tried living with the Softubes for years, but, just never could get into them. They work well with UAD, which I use quite a bit of. But, there's something rather clunky and cheap about their mechanisms. NOT SO with the SSL's...smooth as butter, and the constant updating works well, as well as the screens. They are IMPERATIVE to me nowadays on a controller this expensive.

Good to hear as these are the ones I'm after.

I can’t wait for the nektar cs12 specifically made for Logic Pro gonna be so solid

It looks really interesting!

yeah its the one if it does what the label says. it uses direct integration using the api so its a whole different level of integration

My CS12 arrives in the mail in two days (Saturday, Feb 24, 2024). Can't wait!!!

No jog wheel and the tech looks more annoying then the Xtouch which had its qwirks but definitely solid

I've used touchOSC running on an iPad 4 for years now.

I use my A&H QU-16 DAW Control for basic controller info. Fine for fader mute pan, the usual suspects. Works well enough for my needs.

Chasing the tactile experience, about 3 years ago I bought the Novation Launchcontrol XL which runs on the HUI protocol. I had the somewhat vague idea of setting it up to control Alchemy but I've been really disappointed with the whole experience. I tried using it as a simple mixer but it didn't even map to the default mixer controls. I could only ever get one send knob to work in a limited way, the pan controls are essentially useless and the whole thing seems to want to forget anything I mapped to it and even randomly pushed the Logic faders up to max. I talked to Novation several times but they told me that the Logic application was something of a work in progress and left it at that. It's spent over a year in its box. Not even sure whether Novation have released a solution.

CS-12 (and any plugin controller) is restricted to a three page list of instrument parameters because of the way Logic Pro instrument tracks work. This is not a limitation caused by Nektar and the Nektarine software; the problem is with Apple.

The CS12 looks very interesting. I'm using a Nektar Pacer (the footcontroller) as deeply integrated controller for Logic. It is rock solid. It seems that the company know what they are doing. One fader is fine, since I use a lot of folders and in my experience, it never works as expected with a multi-fader controller. But probably it's just me...

I've used quite a few control surfaces myself including my iPad, Presonus Faderport 2, Icon Platform Nano, Icon M Plus, Behringer X Touch One which i am currently using and even tried mapping various keyboards as controllers for Logic but the perfect Logic controller has continued to elude me. I was toying with the idea of the SSL UF1 before i stumbled on the Panorama CS12 which i just pre-ordered from Thomann (availability 2 to 3 weeks). Not happy with the omission of a jog wheel on it though but let's see if that will affect my workflow when i start using it.

I'll be looking forward to a video from you sharing your thoughts and experience with the CS12. I'd like you to also comment on whether you find the omission of a jog wheel affects you in any way. Thanks.@@LogicProLife

Update: After watching the very few and hard to come by videos on the CS12, I finally opted for the SSL UF1 and UC1 combo. Much more expensive, but i 100% believe i made the right choice.

artist mix was great imo...I'm sure S1 is better but it's too big, and they moved the faders further away for some stupid buttons...latency/resolution on eucon is great, especially if you use a separate nic per device... most performant controller i've used: large ipad pro and touchosc w/ mioxm (din)-> unitor8 to logic...use pitchbend for 14bit, and setup as (emulate) a mackie for bidir in logic...idam is pretty good though, but can only do 8ch if emulating mackie

I have an X-Touch Universal with an extender. I really like them, especially now since Logic sends colours to the channels. Mackie FTW. Humbly, Ylan
@simccaffrey9 ай бұрын
the noise though...and the lag if you try to overdub automation...for the money you get a lot though, and the comprehensive set of buttons are great, I use those a lot...shame they never updated it with better knobs and faders, it's great otherwise.
@ylanstockholm9 ай бұрын
@@simccaffreyOk, it hasn't bothered me, but then I am not a pro and just bought mine second hand. I haven't yet noticed any lag. But they have been around for a while, so newer models from other vendors might be better. Are you using Logic and Mackie? Humbly, Ylan
@simccaffrey9 ай бұрын
@@ylanstockholm who knows, maybe the older ones are better lol. I have a recent one, yes Logic (latest also)...btw "shift"+"inst" gets you smart controls (if you don't know that one), then try "flip" to faders...
