An alternate option if you can get approved is to get a credit card with 0% APR for 15-21 months and pay it off over that period (buy iPhone from Apple). A lot of cards will also have a sign up bonus from $200 - $500.. So you're saving that amount as well if you do get approved.

Why don't normal Apple Authorized Resellers offer upfront unlocked iPhone deals (like $100-200 off) like they do for iPads and Macs? iPhones should be treated just like that. Many people prefer unlocked iPhones.

Unfortunately, it’s an Apple thing not a Best Buy or other store thing for the newest iPhones if you go back to the last generation e.g. iPhone 15 there is deals on those for example at Best Buy where I work you can get a iPhone 15 $150 off for Black Friday

@@davidempire4874​​⁠Apple unfortunately includes this rule with their contracts with any retailers who want to be able to sell the latest iPhone so that Apple can prevent resellers from buying tons of unlocked iPhones from retailers to go and sell online marked up to people in other countries as iPhones are much more expensive in most countries outside the US, for example in Peru it is almost double the cost to buy an iPhone from an apple authorized retailer than it is to buy the same device in the US.

@@davidempire4874 because of carriers. making it as difficult as possible to get an unlocked, current gen iPhone pushes consumers towards postpaid. it’s also why the non-Pro models have an arbitrary $30 activation fee tacked on.

How about cox offering free iphone 16 with no trade required and the monthly fee is only $45 a month. Now if you get two lines you pay $80 with 2 free iPhone 16 with no trade…. That seems the best than any carrier out there….the catch though unlimited data is 20gb

So this round Apple is requiring activation on the big 3 carriers. I wasn’t a fan of this as I’ve specifically financed iPhones through Apple so I wasn’t required to be with a specific carrier. When I pressed Apple on this they told me I did need an account with the big 3 but only AT&T was carrier locked. Now I’m gonna get the phone and just try to activate it on us mobile. But if that doesn’t work I’ve gotta find a cheap burner account to activate it. Love your videos!

Apple sold unlocked iPhones in the past and offered 0 percent financing. Now , you have to pay for your iPhone upfront or buy a locked phone. Best Buy also doesn’t sell unlocked IPhone 16’s. I like having a choice of carriers.

The iPhone arrives unlocked and you can use it on whichever carrier you prefer. No need to sign up for or stay with T-Mobile at all.
