Thanks! You saved me some headaches! I suspected that to be a problem on my old used '94 Honda 23 HP diesel with chain/turnbuckle sway links. They are very short and you have to pull the cotter and drop the clinch pin in order to adjust them. Only having it a few months and six different implements it came with, I walked around and measured all of them. The snow blower was 5" narrow so I turned the pin's inside-to out by just slipping two (longer)7/8"x 6 1/2" pins thru the U-channel connector so the arms are on the outside with the pins running all the way thru. Now all are within 1 1/8". No more adjusting! I hope that made sense, thanks for sharing your findings!

Hi Brad, I had to look to see where my adjustable stabilizers were mounted, because I haven't had this issue. On my B2650, they mounted them on the inside of the arms. Looking at the rear of your L series, you would have to do some modifications to make that happen. My are mounted on a plate just below the pto shaft and just above the tow hitch slot.

I have run into this exact problem just today. My L4701HST came with telescoping stabilizers. I've been using a Speeco Quick Hitch for everything so I hadn't run into this. Then I bought a Del Marino Flipper 186 flail mower, and I can't mount it because the arms don't have enough width. The Del Marino does come with a set of cat 2 quick hitch pins, but the Speeco is cat 1. This is nice because you don't need a set of $30 adapters for every implement you own. The hole for the hitch pins in the Del Marino are larger than a cat 1 pin, so there's no way to use a cat 1 quick hitch pin unless you want to weld up and re-drill the hole. The only solution I see at this point is using Pat's Quick Hitch. This will work, but then you need a top link extension or you lose 4" of length on the top link, and you may not be able to tilt the implement back far enough.

Do the people that use them flip the tire rims around to make a wider rear stance? I don't know i don't like the turn buckles . I like the old lift arms on the 70's massey ferguson they were easy to hook up but then again they were the ones I grew up with. I did know one guy that had a little 19hp massy. And his hitch didn't fit any of his older equipment. He turned the pins around towards the inside of the 3pt. It worked for him.

They make spacers to widen the stance of the tractor. I know you can reverse the rims on the front....but I don't think you can on the back. There are ways to modify the tractor further to make these work but not sure the juice is worth the squeeze.

Fortunately for me, my machine, a MX4700, which I converted over to the telescoping arms, is also offered in a turbocharged version, the MX5100 which is basically the same chassis which comes with the telescoping arms, so clearance was not a problem. I'm surprised the kit that supposedly fits your machine isn't marketed with the caution that clearance may be an issue.

Hey Brad, that can be frustrating. It's not a one size fits all, unfortunately . I have the L2501 same set up. I mentioned before I have the Pats Easy change, with the upgraded stabilizers. It works because it does need to go as wide as the outside cat 1 pin to attach since Pat's attaches to the pin underneath. Yeah, it's another investment, but i can't see myself going back to the turnbuckle .Another option is the Bora wheel spacer. We are both in Florida and flat ground, so I didn't go that route. This is exactly what happened to me-I have a L3400 and I do have the pats quick hitch on my arms. So, getting the implement on wasn't a problem as you don't have to spread the arms as wide, but when everything was attached and locked down, I only had a 1/4" of space at the most between the stabilizers and the Ag tires. Way to close for me. I did contact Neil at Messicks and he told me that Ag tires are a problem with the Kubotas for these stabilizers and I can return them. I felt bad though, as they would never be able to sell them again as they got a little scratched up and look slightly used from me trying to make them work......so if anybody needs a pair, I have them!
