My New Holland tractor came with telescoping stabilizer bars, but they had too much side to side play, in any set of holes with my garden cultivator attached. 4 inches of lateral movement could take out part of a row of vegetables while weeding. I could not find turnbuckle style sway braces that would fit my tractor. I discovered, by accident, that if you slide a bolt in another pair of matching holes in both telescoping sway bars,, you can eliminate nearly all the movement/ sidesway in your 3 pt implement. I use regular hex bolts, the same diameter as the pins, because the NH spring clip pins are 40 dollars a pair. If your drive isn't too bouncy, the bolts will stay in place without using a nut, for tool free removal.

I have some on my L5030. It is very easy to adjust. My adjustment pins have a small length of chain welded to it so you can either bolt one end of the chain on the arms so you don't lose the pins or wrap around the arm and pin again without using the clip on retainer.

Hello Martin. I also have a set of telescoping stabilizers on a L2501 (with R tires). That said I have problems with them rubbing the tires as well. I have a solution that works fairly well, for me anyway. I purchased a bunch of flat washers large enough to slide over the mounting pins. If you install several, just enough to allow clearance for your Pat's hitch, and crowd them to the outside, then it narrows up the stabilizers and gives you more clearance to the tires. You can usually reduce the amount of implement swing too. Hope this makes sense. I started doing this with my rear blade when pulling ditches and I needed to offset it as far as possible to keep my tires out of the ditch. I enjoy your videos, keep them coming!

We put the sway bars on my L3301 and couldn't get the arms wide enough to get any implement on because they bumped against the tires (same as your tires). It looks like the best route is the quick connect you have on your arms. Thanks for the video.

great video. I have changed to the Pin type like you. One thing you may want to watch for when spreading the sway is keep an eye on your right side arm adjustment hitting your backhoe frame. that little turning pin may catch when you have your arms wide spread. I just installed a set of 2 1/2" spacers on my L 2501 .gives you a lot more room.

I have 2 inch wheel spacers on my l3901 with R14 tires and they profit the perfect amount of clearance for the telescoping bars. I also use a QH and find that i never need to adjust the pin holes on the telescoping bars using the Qh since the width of the 3 point arms is always the same. I only switch between the sway position and the fix pin position depending on the implement I’m using.

Hey there Martin, sorry for the catch-up watch. I purchased a pair of telescopic stabilizers for my GC 1710 several years back and they were great looking but they interfered when operating my rotary cutter. The cutter's shaft outer plastic cover got mangled which halted my use of the stabilizers. That really was too bad since I had them made by a guy who made them for all sorts of tractor owners. So I ended up reverting back to OEM stabilizers. Sorry for the late comment but eventually, I'll catch-up. Take it easy. Don 👍🏽🤠 10/10/23
@DIYMyWay Жыл бұрын
Hi Don! Actually, I have changed back to my turnbuckle stabilizers, because the allowed too much sway of attachments, especially my 830 lb ballast box. It would lurch from side to side on uneven terrain and jerk the tractor around most unsettlingly. Now I can make it nice and snug again. Thanks for watching!

Have you looked into a quick hitch, either a QH15 or the SpeedCo? I have a QH15 and everything I have is QH compatible. SO much easier than connecting up three point arms.
@DIYMyWay2 жыл бұрын
Yes I have and chose the Pat’s system over a QH. I have a video comparing the two and cover why I went with Pat’s. If I got a quick hitch, it would be the Speco true Cat 1 QH which doesn’t require the bushing for every implement. Thanks for watching!
@JCWren2 жыл бұрын
In retrospect, I would have gone with the SpeeCo, had I known about it. I went with the QH15, which doesn't make me unhappy, but has resulted buying an adapter. And sometimes it's a real PITA to get the roll pin holes aligned between the adapter and implement pin. But I sure do like just backing up to an implement, raising the three point, and it's connected (well, plus messing with the PTO).
