Yeah I don't even care any more to be honest. I got like 3% left in my tank before I'm out of "Give a F*ck*" about working, making money, and keeping bills paid, and all of that! The only real goal I have is to get my son through high school. Once June 2027 comes around, I literally won't give a damn at all about making money or how awful things are. I will sip tea, be lazy, and let everything collapse and burn if need be! If I were to lose my job due to the economy, I will literally check out because I am tired of playing the game to spin the wheels. I won't go through what I went through in the last big recession with working awful crappy low wage jobs. I will seriously check out completely, and I know there are A LOT of Americans who feel like I do right now. We won't try any more when it happens.

It’s starting already for sure. Sadly my mother passed away last month and I totally forgot about my Chase cc pmt. I have never before been late to make a payment and even though I called them and explained that I totally forgot about it due to a family loss and that’s why I’m 11 days late and they immediately lowered my credit limit to it’s balance. We have been in a recession since the beginning of '22. My company downsized our workforce by 1/3, already. They are almost exclusively only hiring seasonal. Prices are up, wages are down, average car payments are over $700, and the same is true for other bills. Shit is not going well.

Kevin the only thing with gas. Is If my car has more gas in the tank I am more likely to go for a casual drive around. Where If I don't have a lot of gas I am only go to and from work. Driving around is one of my favorite things to do to relax, but If I don't keep gas in the tank I am way likely less to drive around.

Look at new job postings on indeed for your local area. A year ago, every posting was starting at $14+ hour here. (7.25 min wage). Just looked last week and majority of job postings are for $10-12 per hour. This is the businesses hoping to get the desperate people to work for those wages.

If you look at the history of all these now-respected stock analysts, you often see early career doom predictions. They rarely come true. Ray Dalio, Harry Dent, Marc Faber. I work in retail.. it is unbelievable how dead the store has been.. especially after 6pm. Daily sales have been on track or better than last year until the last few weeks. But those numbers are super skewed anyway because every food product is at least 30% more expensive.. It seems that the squeeze is here.

There's a good video of Peter Lynch on KZbin talking about examples of this sort of thing he experienced in his career. Oil was going to go up, and there was going to be a depression. Then, oil was going to go down, and there was going to be a depression. The money supply was growing too fast, and people were saying we're going to have a depression. Then, it was growing too slow, and there was going to be a depression. The Middle East was going to own the world, they weren't going to buy our bonds, the market was going to crash, and there was going to be a depression. Japan was going to own the world, they were going to have all the assets, they weren't going to buy our bonds, and there was going to be a depression. Within three years, people were saying that Japan was going to collapse, and we're going to have a depression. Commercial real estate, global warming, war, nuclear war, yield curve shape. Does any of this sound a bit familiar? It's a lot of BS used as content. Forget the content creators. Listen to someone who actually knows what hes talking about, and made his money from the market not content - like Peter Lynch. You're welcome.

The video is about recession and how it can be self-fulfilling. The speaker says that a recession can be caused by fear. When there is fear in the market, businesses and banks tighten up lending. This can lead to a decrease in earnings and job growth. As people spend less, the economy weakens, and a recession can take hold. As a thought on AI , human capital in AI is very expensive right now. Building projects increases demand and sandboxes for workers incentives and lower barriers of entry for workers to gain skills to lower human capital cost of AI. If you dont build the talent / infrastructure in house, then by time a pathway to profitability is proven you will not be competitive and be a late adopter/implementer.
