Hi another big thanks to Jon! All of our customers love using their MOTOW, many have towed 1,000’s of miles. We now have one with an adjustable receiver 0”-5” up and down. So hitch height can be 10” to 21”, measured from the ground to the bottom of the hitch. Our customers are motorcycle enthusiasts like us who want safety and security for their bikes along with convenience. Here are a few videos showing MOTOW in action thanks again for watching kzbin.info/www/bejne/maeopqmdYseml6M kzbin.info/www/bejne/iV6Zl597o6p1bdk

@@mikey321c The lower cost ones tend to have a lot of issues if you research them. The main difference is the cheaper ones do not pivot - so they hold the front wheel and let the steering stem of the bike become the pivot. Watch videos of those and you see the bike flop from side to side big time. I don't work for MoTow, but did my research and bought one. You get what you pay for - and if you buy a low cost one you may end up buying 2nd time to get something that actually works well.

Honestly for the price I’d get way more use (motorcycle and other) out of a small flatbed trailer. This might be an option for someone who lives in an apartment complex and would have nowhere to store a trailer.

First off, Kudos to the inventors for coming up with a radical design, now that being said. First off I think this would be a great system for say Track Days and MX events, if they come up with a quick release and multiple tow set up for pulling between tents etc on the property. For me, It's not that I don't trust the integral structure or strength, it's wearing out my front tire in the wrong direction but like you said it def has it's place.

My thoughts as well. I see it as a great option for someone with a small vehicle, no storage space for a trailer, or does regular track days. It's a nice option depending on the individual.

I'd like to see video backing up. Also, states have laws on trailers and lights and such, not that this is a trailer, but there should be some kind of red light that connects to your brake light harness to make the bike more visible. State law or not, doing this at night w/o lights is a serious issue. Finally, I think an optional upgrade to this would be a narrow aluminum channel a few feet long from the device to get the front wheel off the ground. It would have to have a replaceable but HIGHLY durable dolly wheel underneath. My concern is stress on front tire after too many turns whether bars are 100% straight or not. Awesome video. I really like your channel Jon.

@Jihadbearzwithgunz
@Jihadbearzwithgunz 9 ай бұрын
One thing I'd advise is anything long distance I'd consider braking the chain to help avoid any risk to the trans cause even with the bike in neutral you'll run the pump and could potentially cook it long distance but just around town should be alright like helping save a friend.. Edit every picture of similar products use the front wheel so this is interesting avoids any potential stress on the trans.

My r1 rear tire weight about 193 lb but it does sink down on the rear of my car unless add a spring bumper to counter the weight or add an air bag system. It is safe only on short trip like in a street but in my opinion I would not recommend driving on longer highway. I usually rent a SUV that come with 2 inch hitch to travel longer highway

Does the bike have to go in backwards? If you’re locking the handlebars straight will they be ok going in frontwards? My only question is if the tires running in reverse for a few hundred miles, like if you’re moving, might mess up the rubber treads or plies. As for visibility, you can cover it in a huge orange warning sign or whatever will get people’s notice.
@MOTOWus
@MOTOWus 4 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for your comments. All the tire manufacturers we talked with confirmed it is perfectly safe for a tire to roll backwards, whether at 5mph or 75mph. And MOTOW is not made for front wheel towing. The reason we designed it for the rear wheel is because towing this way makes it safe for the drive shaft, the chain, etc. With it you’re towing your bike on its own suspension. If you can, take a look at this video towing up to 65mph: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iV6Zl597o6p1bdk

I don't understand why they designed this with the capability for catastrophic failure?... Why not just tow with the rear wheel in neutral, because if that front wheel comes loose or a strap fails... you have no time to react before your bike is potentially totalled.. If your clutch drops you'll feel resistance and have time to pull over and correct the problem before doing major damage... I must be missing something because this seems like a great idea if everything goes perfectly, but a disaster if anything goes wrong.
@MOTOWus
@MOTOWus 4 жыл бұрын
Hi just read your comment. We’ve sold hundreds of these and no problems reported. On the contrary, every person who has used a MOTOW Tow System loves it. The rear wheel of the bike is strapped tight into the cradle with 2 ratchets rated 2,200 lbs. each. Plus there’s a safety strap rated 6,600 lbs connected to the hitch. The bike wheel will not come off the cradle. The bike is towed on its own suspension so there’s no stress on it. It turns as you turn. If you have a few minutes take a look at our install video or other videos showing it in action on our KZbin channel thanks! kzbin.info/www/bejne/iV6Zl597o6p1bdk kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6LIcqqjd5d3haM

@@MOTOWus There is also a matter of regulations, which are much stricter in Europe. I think that this kind of towing is regulated in Serbia as additional vehicle, because it has a wheel on the ground, so it must be registered separately with a "third plate", as we call it. So, by "start selling in Serbia" I meant the full legal paperwork to be done, (registration, atests, etc.) for my country, so I can legaly use it in traffic here.

Digital odometers don’t register if the ignition is off. We don’t have experience with analog odometers. Good question thanks for asking!

@@MOTOWus Why tow backwards? I would think front wheel up would be better, especially if you have a big windshield.

It’s safe for the drive shaft, and pivots 150 degrees. Bike free rolls on the front wheel.

Could this safely haul a Dyna?
@JonsMotoGarage
@JonsMotoGarage 5 жыл бұрын
Personally, if I didn't have a truck or trailer available, I would feel ok hauling my dyna a few miles to the shop if I had to. Not sure if I would do a long trip or not. I haven't put it extensively to the test yet.

Ok, this is going to be a weird one. Watch this video beginning right at the 27:00 mark. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHnEcpeqaJ18ock I remember from watching Mystery Science Theater how they towed a motorcycle in this old movie.

Dang! You found a needle in a hay stack with that clip! Lol. Nice! According to MoTow, they checked with tire manufactures to verify that it wouldn't be harmful to the tire having it go in reverse. For me, it would be an ideal solution for short hauls. For example, I've had my dyna break down a few times while out practicing wheelies just a few miles from the house. Now that I don't have my truck, this would be perfect for getting me out of some pickles.
