Watch before you buy a used ABS module

Great video. Thanks for the info. My 2010 Ford 150 ABS just failed on me. The Ford dealership said they no longer make a replacement part that I need. They suggested they install a used ABS module that comes with no warranty. Would you recommend i go that route? Is it possible to just disable the entire ABS system and go old school? Thanks for any advice you can share.

I just put a used abs pump and module on a 14 dodge avenger through a code that abs pump didn't recognize c2202 I think. Got the foxwell 610 code reader cleared it also has the abs brake bleed on too

The abs computer ? This is something I have never heard of lol you mean the abs module? Or do you mean ECM ? Two different things both have a brain

@@whocares1914 actually an ECM=electronic control module. So the abs module is literally an ECM that specifically controls the abs system. None of them have any more “brains” than your microwave does.

my two cents 1 ensure all fuses and relays are operational 2 ensure all sensor wires running up into the wheel well are undamaged 3 check reluctor sensors are free of magnetic debris 4 check sensors are sending a signal 5 check each axle's reluctors are in the sensor window - someone replaced an axle on my 2002 with wrong version - signal failed

You ought to look into learning how to take apart the electronic component of the unit (the part the connector connects to), and how to re-solder the broken or loose connections, and reflow all the machine-soldered connections to correct any "cold joints" that will fail in the near future. Start with the unit that doesn't fit your M45 Sport and take it from there. Many of these are built using the same methods, but to different specs. If it's a mechanical break in a soldered connection, which is typical, it can be repaired very quickly, once the unit it apart, i.e. the glued on top removed. it is worst to find it.. what you can do tell your dealership VIN numbber and they will tell u part number or in Bosnia I found a guy who goes inside and encodes a module.

Can u use a used abs pump and module for a h3 hummer and does it have to be programmed to my vehicle? It's in shop not getting brake fluid to back breaks after changing a break line on passenger front side. Shop thinks I need abs pump

I am not familiar with the Hummer, but I can give you some genrleral info. In Nissans, you want to match your replacement ABS module based on the features your car has, for example intelligent cruise, sport model, etc. You could have upton3 or 4 different ABS modules per given year of a model. I don't know if Hummers are that different between each other. Just look at the model numbers.

Also, sometimes these units act funny if you don't pay attention during a fluid job and end up running them dry. But on the Nissan side, we have codes that tell you specifically this ABS module is done for, so it's not just a guess.

Yeah, you should be able to. Just match your part numbers, or buy the newest available part number compatible with your VIN. Sometimes a dealership is the best place to get this info

Is it ok to install any abs module from civic mk9 line on the civic SI oth?
