I was amazed and stunned to hear this about lowering Rx costs for seniors (and the hope to expand it to everyone). I actually cried when I heard that the cost of my asthma inhalers would be so radically reduced. I am 74, have asthma (with 2 inhaler prescriptions), diabetes, and autoimmune disease as well as hypertension, thyroid issues, and more... This means filling prescriptions for 13 regular maintenance medications. (PLUS doctor instructions to take many over-the counter medications which address pain, side-effects, etc.) I am one of those who have been in severe distress due to concerns over paying for my medications. Thanks for broadcasting this announcement. And much gratitude to those in government who have worked long and hard for this progress.

Health care itself in the US is great, but the medical insurance industry is a disaster, exorbitant prices. My family has $18,500 annual deductibles in addition to $21,600 paid by the employer as an annual premium. Put into perspective - Median family income in the US is about $65,000 annually BEFORE taxation. Vote for Democrats, at least they are doing something.

I had one of those corporate plans several years ago which cost about $22K between my employer and my monthly premiums. I had $2K deductibles but it literally covered everything. I paid $5k/year for premiums while the company paid the rest. Your costs are basically determined by your employer - there's a sliding scale of what they pay and then they determine the plans which determine the deductible. So, for employer-provided insurance, your employer controls a lot more than the government.

Not to mention that uh did you not know that gasoline pricing is dependent on a slew of global variables? Do you know who you can blame for the ACA (Obamacare) not having proper oversight and controls? I'll give you a hint, it isn't the Democrats. When the ACA was passed, all of the oversight and controls on it had to be stripped because one party didn't want them or to pay for them. The Democrats went along with this because it was important to get the Patient's Bill of Rights passed as a part of the bill but it was not a perfect bill with one party on the right being the cause.
