Not only did I enjoy this funny and thought provoking address, I felt the need to comment on the NY Times critic, Jason Zinoman who panned it. It is increasingly frustrating that the NY Times is selective about when to allow comments on an article. Often the comment sections have far more insight than articles that may have an agenda. Colin Jost is understated but that forces the audience to make an effort. I loved his comparing himself to Doug Emhoff. I will give it to Colin. He was far more even on both sides than I thought he would be. Of course the roast part is supposed to be about the current president, but his was about as good as it was going to get. The best part was how he trashed the media and their obviously uncomfortable reaction to the truth.

Brilliant. Sharp. Pulled no punches. you can smell the nature of the crowd, when Jost quipped about needing Tik Tok to document the next assault on the Capitol; nobody laughed. seems like there were more right wingers in attendance, this time.
@cbpaddingtonbear26069 ай бұрын
I think nobody laughed because they don't find it that much of a joke and also they all must be super worried about people getting their media from tiktok. As they are losing a whole generation. You can tell from the clapping at the other jokes the majority was left leaning to some degree

Colin had the coldest response but just kept going, and I’m so happy with it! What an absolute hero.

But you know what made it great was Biden thought it was funny even the jabs at him. Swap in Trump and dude would of hat a meltdown then went and cried on 3 irrelevant youtube podcasts lol

I really enjoyed all of Colin’s presentation. It was funny and true on both sides.

If reality forces you to vote for the least worst, picking the decent candidate is a valid reason to save the planet. Thank you Colin. That started silly, but ended as a masterpiece.

Highbrow humor has its' critics. Many of them have commented here already. Lucky for them, spell check is a thing.

You apparently don’t have spellcheck? But yes. I agree. Many of the people commenting must’ve thought they were watching a stand up routine and are critical of the jokes or what he chose to speak on. I’d like to see them do this. Colin killed it.

Colin made fun of the orange toddler, some repuglicans and even President Biden...about that!!!....but in all seriousness, mentioning his deceased grandfather and comparing him to President Biden was very sweet ...Colin Jost was a Hit tonight!!!

yep... fucking sickening. And no mention of Assange from a single "journalist". Tools of the corporate state, the lot of them.

Excellent. Well done. Make sure you see the conclusion at 18:55 regarding Colin's grandfather from Staten Island. On point, and very touching. Here's to decency!!! Standing ovation is well deserved. The naysayers missed the boat on this comedic triumph.
