Maybe you forgot how they welcomed the Kurdish refugees from Iraq 3 months ago? Or the Syrians before that? Or the North Africans? Wonder why it's so different in this case?

@@datmeme8967 Are you really so blind that you can't see the difference? On the one hand, aggressive young men who flew to Minsk by airplanes. Men who destroyed their passports and decided to enter Poland illegally, attacking the Polish border guards and the police with stones, rods etc. On the other hand, mothers with children fleeing bombed towns and villages, who cross the border during a checkpoint and have passports or other identity documents. Poland is our home and we, Poles, decide who will enter it.

I work as a cashier in one of supermarkets in Poland. Everyday I'm handling so many people buying stuff for Ukrainian refugees. I was surprised how much money they're willing to spend on all of those things needed the most. Even my friends from work, it inspired me to give also. When we hear someone speaking Ukrainian we ask how did they fled the war and usually they're crying talking about it, we hug them warmly even though we don't know each other. It's so heart warming.

You should know one thing. Poland and the border crossings were not prepared for such a scale of refugees and unexpected war. Everything that is organized takes place in parking lots and unprepared fields at the border. The fact that for one day after Russia's attack on Ukraine everything was already working and after receiving over 400,000 people for 4 days, there are no traffic jams and no incidents related to it. The fact that the mainstream of escaping people flows smoothly across Poland and soon across Europe is a virtually unheard of event that can happen only in Central Europe, and mainly in Poland. However, the situation is very difficult and dangerous and this whole war can get out of control.

Actually Poland was prepared, just type in Poland getting ready for Ukrainian refugees if a war with Russia breaks out. There is video after video showing the Polish borders getting humanitarian aid at the border two weeks before the war broke out, they showed full wearhouses of aid ready for Ukrainian refugees in case war broke out. The Polish president kept saying for 2 months that he was sure Russia will attack Ukraine so he got the border ready to accept refugees way before the war.

It was Soviets, not Ukrainians. Soviets collaborated with Nazi Germany till 1941. The latter, nationalistic Ukrainians from OUN/UPA, also Nazi-collabo, murdered hundert thousand of Polish women, elders and kids in the most disgusting way in the German occupied pre-war Polish region of Volhynia ~1943. Weird enough, Polish people there, unlike north eastern district around Wilno, were in few cases helped by Germans or Soviets against Ukrainian murderers. Nevertheless I'm optimistic seeing Putin's! Putin in his speeches conveniently ignores the fact that a large part of Ukraine has formed a single state with Poland for many centuries. Trying to create the impression that Ukraine is really a rebellious part of Russia. That's not true. We know them, we know that they are a separate nation. We had a difficult history together, but these are our brothers. We will accept anyone who wishes to come to us. We will take care of them. I hope that they will be able to return to independent Ukraine as soon as possible and start rebuilding their country. Their attitude towards the invaders deserved it. Slava Ukrainie!
