RD Parialated I can see where you’re coming from but I don’t think it’s that either Eddie Murphy has been a cultural icon for over 30 years he is the definition of crossover. If anyone is comfortable with crossover audiences it would be Eddie Murphy. I think it’s something else. In years past when he was on the promotional tour for a certain movies and noticed the same aloof style or aloof approach in certain interviews and other interviews he was very responsive and lively. For example back in 2002 he was on 106 and park a show on BET. He was so unresponsive and aloof I thought it was an Eddie Murphy clone. However, later that night when he was on the Tonight Show he came alive like Saturday night live Eddie Murphy. So I just think he picks and chooses when he will come alive

If you didn’t laugh at “Dolemite”, that’s because it wasn’t supposed to be a comedy. It was more about the struggles of a black man trying to make something of himself in Hollywood at an age where most are considered “washed up”...Honestly, I never thought Rudy Ray Moore was that funny, but the fact he did it all independently - without any backing - he deserves that respect.

Thanks for sharing Rudy's story. I'm a dreamer, therefore it was amazing to see him conquer his dreams. Also, we must be careful of the investors we form relationships with it may cripple your talent.

Eddie Murphy is one of my favorite people. His standup back in the day was great (Even though he cringes looking at it back) and I loved a lot of his movies, even Norbit to be honest. I would watch Dr Dolittle a lot when I was younger as well as Nutty Professor! I loved his movies when he would play multiple roles, I always thought that was amazing! That's my experience watching Eddie Murphy when I was younger. His Mr Church movie was really good too. For him to actually do a drama and pull it off. I'm excited for him to come back to SNL as well. If he brought back his old gimmicks like Mr Robinson and Gumby, it would be fantastic! I'm waiting for his next Stand Up special for Netflix, that should be a lot of fun! Keep doing your thing Eddie while also being able to continue and enjoy being home with your family when it's done because you deserve it! Thank you for everything Eddie!

Eddie is really talkative and relax on this interview, more so then on Fallon or Colbert.
