Skagen watches are not from Sweden. There's actually a little beautiful town on the north north of Denmark called Skagen (i have family there), it's where all started. I got myself one Skagen watch 8 years ago exactly on their first shop (which unfortunately is closed now).

You said "it's where all started". I don't think Skagen was started in Skagen town or anywhere in Denmark per se. It was started in NYC, USA. The founders were Danish that's why they named it after their hometown otherwise nothing about it is Danish, it's an American brand with Chinese movement. Always has been. Sorry to disappoint.

I feel like “controversial” just means there’s a large contingent of people who like you and dislike you. Whether that controversy is justified is a whole different topic. But virtually anybody involved with politics would fit the bill of being controversial. Because by default half the people will hate them. I’d say Ben Shapiro is controversial in the same way AOC is. For that matter, I don’t think figures like Weinstein or Cosby are really “controversial”, because they’re pretty widely agreed upon to be horrendous people.

I got like 7 Skagen watches. All of them are very thin and light. 4 of them in Titanium and the others steel. Although, those were bought before Fossil aquired Skagen. After being merged with Fossil group i stopped buying them. Went down the Seiko rabbithole SKX007, SARB017, SAGV007 Perpetual Calandar, Presage Fubuki Sakura, etc.
