Ben told the story (maybe on the Hodinkee podcast?) that when he showed up at Jean Claude's house, Jean Claude said he had totally forgotten about the interview and hadn't gone to the bank to get the watches he wanted to show. They carried on and did the interview anyways using "just what he had in the house".

I remember i got a vintage 60s Tag Heuer from my grandmom she lives nearby la chaux de fonds so she just went there and asked for the watch to be cleaned - no reservation no nothing just went in there. They cleaned the watch, gave her a box and a certificate free of charge. This is the service we swiss are famous for, be it in watchmaking or banking.

@WristwatchAddiction4 жыл бұрын
The most amazing thing about this whole dinky video is that Ben Climer has gone on record as saying that when they showed up to JCB’s house, he had forgotten they were coming to film his watches that day so he did not bring his “good “watches from the vault and only showed the watches that he had laying around the house. Just think about that! If these are what we’re just laying around the house, just imagine what’s actually in the vault!

How much do you think Mr Biver’s whole watch collection shown on this video is worth in $US?
@agentdalecooper14064 жыл бұрын
It's very hard to determine. Those watches are so unique and in such a great shape with a great story attached to them on top of everything. You can't put a price on them cause I could imagine demand is enormous while supply is non existent. You'd have to auction them but then if you owned pieces like Jean-Claude Biver you;'d never get rid of them. Tl;dr His collection as a whole is priceless

Absolutely stunning piece ... grail watch collection Jean is obsessed with his competitors Patek that has tried to dominate luxury sport watches using same exact formula. However Lange datograph also shaken Patek greatly. Lange has done nothing to disrupt AP. It’s like AP sport is ahead of Patek, and Patek copied AP; or Patek Nautilus attacks on AP Royal Oak whilst Lange chronograph in-house movement’s is the other way round; Lange attacks Patek dress complications with in-house movements. If I am Stern I would buy Lange triple split chronograph.
