Dear Madam, I have no words (literally) to thank you for this "MIRACLE" pattern of the Headband that you have taught. It is soooooo easy, beautiful, and quick to make. Just can't go wrong. We are visiting our granddaughter(2 Years) next week in America and I am planning to make many many colours for her. They are going to be excellent gifts for every girl that I know. Also why I like it so much because there is no problem with exact measurement, the elastic will adjust a little difference. a big God Bless!

Very nice, can we crochet all around the band to cover the band when you was showing at the end i thought you were gonna circle around the whole band so that the band wouldnt show so i would like to no if i can do this
@HandMadeRukodelky5 жыл бұрын
Hi Sheri, what you could do is crochet single crochet stitches around the rubber band - make sure it is semi-dense (for the stretchiness), then work on the headband, when you have desired length, sew the other end few single crochet stitches directly across from the other end 🌸 good luck

I am looking forward to trying this. I love the idea of using a hair elastic. Is there any way you could attach a crochet flower to the hair elastic if you wanted to hide it? Thank you!!
@HandMadeRukodelky10 жыл бұрын
kristen hobbs the elastic is supposed to be concealed under the hair in the nape area, but if there is almost no hair (babies) or short hair (toddlers) and you would like to attach a flower to it then I would probably do this: 1. purchase the thin version of the elastic, 2. double it (folded in half) and start crocheting around it 3. after finishing my headband attach it to the elastic 4. the elastic would have smaller diameter therefore easier to sew on the flower to conceal the elasticthere is another way to do it - and that is no elastic at all, but you could purchase an elastic thread for knitting - which would make the headband stretchy, then sew the flower on the seam to conceal ithappy crocheting :-)

Your video tutorial was great! You explained everything clearly and my headband came out just like yours. I love the stitch pattern. Is there a name for the stitch that you do in the handband? I would love to do a blanket with it.
@HandMadeRukodelky8 жыл бұрын
it is called a shell stitch - usually made with 5 double crochet stitches - I called it a cluster in the video, my shell stitch is made of [2 dc, ch1 and 2dc] ..... I did a little research and found a baby blanket made with shell that is crocheted as 5 dc into same stitch - then you always place another shell into the middle stitch above... the shells in the image are separated by 1 dc - www.favecrafts.com/Crochet-Baby-Blankets/Babys-First-Blanket - I hope this helps

Thank you for posting this video. It's very helpful! I'm interested in crocheting a headband that's twice as wide... how many single crochet stitches do I need to make around the rubber band... 10?
@HandMadeRukodelky9 жыл бұрын
+Dawn Southard hi... I tried out your suggestion and my second row would be like this - make ch3, skip 2 sts and make cluster: [2 dc into 3rd st, ch1, 2dc into same st], skip 1 st, 1 dc into next st, skip 1 st, cluster, skip 2 sts, 1dc into last st turn and make each dc above dc from prev row, and clusters into the ch space of each cluster - hope this helps enjoy...

what size hook are you using?
@vickierooda69294 жыл бұрын
2 questions - 1. I'm assuming if I want it wider, I would just increase the single crochet stitches in multiples of 3, right? 2. Using the same yarn, how many rows would you do for an adult head?
@HandMadeRukodelky4 жыл бұрын
Hi Vickie, 1. depending how much wider you want it - you could just ad on each side 1 or more sts, and just do extra double crochet stitches on the sides... Or if you want it wide, then 1+ extra "fan" would do, with the same stitch arrangement on the sides... 2. you will have to measure the circumference of the head, then measure the elastic length, deduct the elastic length from the circumference and make it about 1/2"-1" smaller in circumference (incl. elastic) just in case it would stretch - you dont want it to be too big, you want it to be snug 🌹
