SO GREAT to have Strider back in the booth to add some *desperately* needed personality, insight and actual critiquing of the surfing. He doesn't just sit there spewing endless, bland platitudes about the surfers in the water. I just wish that the WSL would realise that Turpel absolutely MUST be paired with an opinionated, critical co-commentator to make the broadcast watchable and entertaining - 'pleasant' dullards like Felicity Palmateer and Jesse Mendes being paired with the almost comically opinion-less Turpel is just unwatchable at this point. We used to have Ronnie Blakey, Pottz, Peter Mel who would add actual critique, personality and humour and call out crap performances by surfers (and sometimes judges...) and it added A LOT. I have no idea why we don't have these great commentators in the booth anymore. Commentary is so important in pro surfing as the majority of the time is actually spent listening to them without action. It's an area where the WSL really needs to up their quality control and start looking for actual talent and entertainment.

Well comments are gone, commentators are gone, enough time to run an event in watchable condition are gone, the WSL sucks, hope it is replaced soon

These women athletes deserve commentators with more excitement, better vocabularies and are bit more articulate in regards to these athletes physical strength, their ability, and athleticism. The 1st 2hrs didn't do the ladies justice.

That ear drum thing sucks. I did it when I was 19, got treated, yet it’s affected my hearing mildly since. Hopefully the medical is better now and Brisa bounces back 100%.
