He was about 130 yards from the wannabe assassin. That is REALLY close. I have a rangefinder and boy it’s a lot closer than it sounds. On my street about 3 mailboxes away (acre lots). ARs are chambered in 5.56 which is not hi-powered compared to other rifles, but the feasible range is more determined by the optic, and inherent accuracy of the rifle and barrel. A quality AR setup for long range can certainly make hits out to 600yds, but even with a cheap rifle with only a reddot like this guy had it’s really a super easy shot on a man-sized target. Only God saved Trumps life that day.
