I almost feel bad for Lady Lindsay. I'm positive that when he entered public service he did it for all the right reasons. I'm also convinced that he cares for his constituents, which is rare enough, it should be mentioned. But I'm afraid he's just not a strong personality, not strong enough to follow his convictions and hold his values. As Luke's pointed out, he needs to feel relevant, and I don't believe he could stand in front of the MAGA base and take their derision and threats. This is why I _almost_ feel sorry for him, he's made his bed and can't lie in it, nor can he extricate himself. Crow a spine Lindsay, then not can you respect yourself again, you'll allow us to respect you again.
