The same situation for me. However, I work work in jewelry, and the get through rate here is really low. Gatekeepers are evolving and are so annoying. One thing that I learned recently from another guy from KZbin is that gatekeepers hate the silence. Saying as less as possible and reaching out to a prospect as you would to your, let’s say, friend are the only saviors for me.

I noticed something spectacular today: If you are honest and open with the intention of making an offer, almost no one will be rude or disrespectful. Either it's a yes or a no because they don't have a need. The way you do it really works in comparison to many other theoretical concepts that sound well but don't breed results. Thank you.

I really enjoyed his approach, much like yours, because it cuts through the 🐂💩 and gets a quick yes or no to allow you the opportunity to deliver your potential value and let them make a decision. Definitely a great refresher for me in my new role. Cheers!

Been cold calling/phone sales as my first job right out of high school and 9 years later have had a ton of success (based on my personal goals no ego intended) and I absolutely love your opener! There are obviously many techniques with varying degrees of success depending on who uses them/how effectively they do it and at least today (maybe it was a just hot streak ;)) the way you do this particular method is so disarming it basically guarantees a chance to qualify/get a small pitch for more time to everyone who picks up the phone. If it's not a good fit it's not a good fit but this way seems great for getting that shot to find out. Hardest part of any cold call is getting them to legitimately listen to you for just a second and this works really great. If you use tone properly the way you do they literally are like "sigh well I guess I'll let you try to sell me something quick" without them really realizing it I think haha. Of course every industry/person has different tactics like this that work better/worse but this one seems like it would be 90% effective (extremely high) in damn near every phone sales setting.

Tone and pattern of conversation often has the other person falling into what seems like the appropriate stance. Make it a stance which places the other person in a disposition to please and it should be an easier path to get them thinking about the product and how it helps them. On the other hand go down the wrong tone and conversation pattern it will be an uphill struggle.

His opening approach ("this is a sales call") is oft referred to as "front end selling." This method is good for qualifying in/out quickly. Danger of this can be that you don't get chance to sell the "sizzle." However, once they give him permission to continue, note it's not a 30 sec call... :) Also, a classic sales approach, question, question question. Explore all avenues. Then if nothing, ask for a referral. Elements of "sleight of mouth too" in the final call "have you closed your mind to, there could be an alternative?"
