Liz from The Nail Hub is a *fantastic* source of information. I've learned a lot from her. Also can recommend Dorota Palicka for gel nails - she's a great teacher and can fit a form so perfectly! And the Nails Sakramel channel also. I learned a great trick from watching her about how to fit your form while it's still on the backing paper so it's not sticking to your finger and messing you up. Nice to see you using forms! That's the best way to get a beautifully shaped nail imo. 💖💖💖

Dorota Palicka is amazing! But watch Suzie from Nail Career Education. She did an entire episode just on forms. I was struggling so so badly using forms I swore off them for life. After watching her tutorial forms are the only way i do nails. No more tips thank heavens! Seriously - she's AMAZING!

Hi! Love your work! I always have an issue with getting close enough to my cuticles..especially on the tiny corners..so it always looks like I have a tiny gap or ledge? Do u have any suggestions or tips? Thank you ❤️❤️

Hi Gena! Do you apply a slip layer before applying the larger bead of gel? I find this super helpful not only in controlling the gel and where it goes, but it also helps to get the gel closer to the cuticle without flooding it. When you go to apply the larger bead, just push it up towards the cuticle and it will kinda "connect" with the slip layer (if that makes sense). I find I don't have to push as much gel into that area if I have the slip layer down first. The key to the slip layer is not to make it too thin like base coat, you want it a little thicker as if you were applying gel polish and didn't wipe the brush off first. Hope this makes sense and helps you!

@@genahebert4 Definitely try a little thicker slip layer, especially around the cuticle area. You'll find you won't need to worry about getting as close with the larger bead and they will just kinda melt together.

If you watch Lissette closely, she'll apply the slip layer and then the larger bead just slightly back from that and she'll kinda hold it there and move her brush in tiny circular motions to allow the gel to connect to the slip layer and start to self level itself into place before she starts pulling it down towards the end of the nail. its a thin layer of gel not cured so when you add a larger amount of gel it will slip right into that first thin layer of gel almost acting as a guide of where to go.

Girl these nail's are very pretty. I've been doing my nails for a very long time & I started with builder gels, but recently I've been working with acrylic powders.
