I live and travel in Australia, in most of Oz we dont have rust problems much at all, not like in other counties, which is a plus but looking at this video also a minus 😅. Anyway your husband is a very blessed man to have a pretty wife like yourself, happy and willing to get stuck into this sort of work and loves the outdoors and travel in a LR. Great video, great work. I treat my 2006 td5 110 Defender every 2 years using lanolin Fluid-Film. It is my absolute favourite antirust product. I have used Tectyl and Mercasol in the past on a Hilux and Land Cruiser, but those products are very expensive and sandblasting rust prior to application is required. Water will also get underneath the products over time, and rust will develop from the inside. With Fluid-film you will not have that kind of rust development. It is cheaper, more environmental friendly, and it is easy to do yourself. I spend about 150€ per treatment, and I spray very generously😊. It is a less time consuming process. I wash the car the same way you do, but when dry you simply spray directly on and inside the chassis. It only smell of sheep the first 2 weeks. You do not need to prime or sand blast the chassis first, because Fluid-film will stop surface rust and keep it from developing. I use a brush to apply thick Fluid-film grease on the most exposed areas of the chassis, and spray fluid-film NAS with a cheap electric paint all over the chassis and use aerosol spray cans with 360 nossle inside chassis, Doors, pillars, and the bulk head. Just drill a few holes into the bulkhead from inside the engine bay and on both sides of the dashboard inside the car. This will treat and stop corrosion inside the bulkhead due to humid condensation. I use DumDum butyl putty to cover the drill holes. My Defender is 99.9% rust free. You do not need to cover up any parts when spraying. Just do not use on door seals, they will become sticky. Bushings, electrical wiring and connectors is safe to spray. Actually Fluid-film is a great product to spray in electrical connectors and battery poles etc. The product is very hydrophobic so water will not stay as easily inside the frame and caveties. When using the NAS Fluid-film with a spray gun, just put the 5L can i a pot of hot water and it turn into liquid. This makes it flow a lot better, and creep up to 10cm. You can apply Fluid-film on top of any old anti rust treatment (Dinitrol, Tectyl, Mercasol etc) without removing it first. It will creep inside it and protect the steel anyway. I highly recommend Fluid film😊👍

I think you need a better work jacket Here in Minnesota, USA I use a product called Fluid Film on my 80 series Land Cruiser. It's a lanolin based product.

Dinitrol ML is harder and much more durable but it also makes more mess cose its oil and wax based... It can runs a bit i edges but not as long (for month) as Lanoline... it can be coated with stoneprotect from Dinitrol ("Dinitrol Metalic" or "Dinitrol Schwarz") which is stoft enaugh tol hold stones but hard enaugh so no dirt get sucked... Its one of the best protection systems i know which holds better then Fluid Film and dont have to be reaplied as often.

Of your clothes don’t come clean you now have work clothes if they do then you need to get a onesie work suit. I’ve never seen a car wash with a lift. That would be nice to have. I liked seeing the young man helping out also.

Will need to have a onesie for when we travel :) and that car lift is very useful but very expensive too, we pay for the use and then pay for the high pressure wash

Any experience with Waxoyl or LanoGuard? This stuff looks as easy to apply as LanoGuard… and it doesn’t make your Defender smell like a wet sheep 😂

Wear old clothes so when you get this Dinitrol product on them then you can throw them away. Or wear an old boiler suit.
