Silence can speak louder than words especially unnecessary words. Art should not be downgraded with trending elements such as rap that fade with time if you want to outlive them. Passion for beauty and reverence of the arts should not be blurred by our own self indulgence. Sometimes it is best to hold back in those areas that we have not yet mastered. This artist has so much to offer in his field but hopefully he will regard people and their energetic frequencies. These frequencies encapsulate us in walls are delicate as the walls of soap bubbles that burst when they are exposed to events out of context. This is the internet and as we evolve and mature...

I really like this guy,...I used to be all over the place with my art, and than I would loose focus and quit,....now I just concentrate on portrait drawing,...that’s it,...starting to see real progress in my drawing,....and Santos is one of my go to artist,...anybody else that is struggling I suggest pick one area of discipline and use one medium of drawing tools,...have fun.

Interesting to break the face into major shadow areas early on. Usually, I do that later, but I can see the major advantage of this definition earlier in the work. I like the smudge crayons to get the shadows even before moving on to higher light/dark contrasts.

Amazing Video! Was wondering If you could give quick tutorials for oil painting, such as how to paint eyebrows (because im currently struggling sooooo hard right now) and maybe how to not blend in toooo much (which i understand takes practice like most things) or even how to change something from a photo reference into a painting, eg: weird shadow on face that just wont work in the painting, or a strange bit of light or whatever) :)

How come the charchoal doesn`t break when you are using it with such a long stick? I know you are using it very lightly but probably the charcoal must also be very strong.

I'm not sure that the pan pastels added anything to this drawing. It smoothed the initial shadow value, but was way too light even at that initial value, and he had to go over it with his B (I assume) charcoal later.
