Hey fam!! My name/links might be different than what I said in the video and that's because after four amazing years of decoden cases & three years on KZbin, I've decided to pursue art in new ways 🥰 The description is updated to reflect the accurate accounts and links. Thanks for your support!

How to make silicon not dry fast ... after coloring
@tamtamzhra8463 Жыл бұрын
Mine was dry just almost 5mnt after coloring.. had hurry with piping and didn't lookgrear
@AlexaJuncajArt Жыл бұрын
I used to think more paint made it runnier and less paint made it thicker but I've learned it has more to do with the temperature and humidity of the area you're in. Recently, the silicone hardened up on me while still in the bag while I was mid-custom laptop case. I turned the temperature down to around 68 and that seemed to help. Also less humidity is better.

do you think that icing a cake would provide good experience for getting into decoden? it seems really cool but i don’t know if i would be good at it or if it’s different
@AlexaJuncajArt3 жыл бұрын
Yeah for sure! I tried to practice with play-doh but it was too thick 😂 Frosting is a little easier than silicone but it's still better than nothing! Plus you can scrape it up and reuse it to practice over and over without wasting it much 👍🏼

Hi. I don’t know if you still reply to comments but i really need help, how do you clean out your piping bags and piping tips after use? i had a really hard time cleaning them out because of the silicone. I had to throw them out later because I couldn’t get it out
@AlexaJuncajArt2 жыл бұрын
Hi! I only clean the tips and I throw the bags away. I just cut the tip out, then wipe it over and over with paper towel until there's no silicone left🤷🏻♀️ It's definitely the worst part of making cases😂

Does the phone case have to be a particular material? Can I use the hard acrylic cases?
@AlexaJuncajArt3 жыл бұрын
Yeah imo hard plastic cases work best!! not sure about the actual material, I think acrylic is pretty hard plastic?

Do you not need a mask for working with the silicone?
@AlexaJuncajArt3 жыл бұрын
I would wear one if I were working with silicone sealing a bathroom (or doing a large project) in a small space. But, I always work in a well ventilated area and put the silicone away the minute I'm done using it. I only use a few pumps for phone cases. If it gets on your skin though, definitely wipe it up and wash your hands right after because it can be a skin irritant. Also from what I've read, if you are using 100% silicone like the ones I use, it's not likely to contain harmful chemicals. It just smells kind of bad lol.
