I love that you involved the boyfriend for a few shots at the end. My wife's senior photographer had me join for three photos during her shoot and they made for great side by side photos at our wedding many years later!

How do you make sure they're in focus with a 50mm with all the movement?

Was there a point that you were showing her the shots along the way? My wife is pretty good at knowing the poses she wants, but often wants to often wants to see each shot. Trying to get her to wait until after a few shots, but I guess for her it is easier to keep track of each one that way, to make sure she is not blinking, or a shot is not slightly soft. But it does slow things down a bit. What do you think?

I show all clients a few shots from the back of my camera during shoots. For many reasons 1. To make sure they feel like they look good (side, hair, smile) and 2. Some people have insecurities, showing them how good they look makes them more happy during the shoot:)

Great question! And yes, I do! Especially when I know I've nailed a shot and want her to see how amazing it looks too. I also will do this at the beginning of a session too so she can see that she's killing it and ease her nerves!

A ton of people don’t use flash especially out doors if you know your lighting and exposure

@@emilywalker836my reason for my question was when your video started you said you should have skipped that location because it was so cloudy….flash would have solved that problem. I’m just sayin.

Hi Mike! I do not use flash! I am a natural light photographer and prefer the look of a natural glow/light vs. artificial light (aka a flash)! Flash has a very distinct look, and for my personal photography style, I look for locations that have great natural light, open shade, and will expose my clients evenly from head to toe!
