It's the "Nuclear Power veto", they just use the fancy word of saying "Security Council" instead of "Nuclear Powers Council" and also to avoid anyone else getting any ideas about acquiring nukes. There's a reason Germany isn't ever gonna get a seat on the council despite being a bigger economy than France. It was also for all of the victorious Allied powers after WW2. And taking that veto power away is a recipe for nations just leaving altogether, you risk repeating the League of Nations' mistakes. If the USA leaves because it can't veto, then some other issue and Russia leaves, and China leaves, then the UN is basically a joke organization. If you remove the US' security council veto, the US will leave (or cut funding) and the US is the largest funder of the UN BY FAR, and provides billions beyond that in security, and a safe environment for the UN HQ, that other nations wouldn't be willing to pick up the tab on. The only reason the UN means anything is because the Great Powers are there. Don't give them a veto? Then expect them to leave. And then all the parasitic smaller nations will stop coming since there are no Great Powers throwing money at them there (a big way the UN works is the bigger nations bribe smaller nations to get their votes, kind of like the US Congress where reps and senators will often get their votes bought with pork projects). A good example of this is how China and Taiwan fight over bribing different nations to recognize them at the UN or side with them. Taiwan lost that battle a while ago (though it still fights it with some tiny island nations so it can point and say "hey, look! these 5 countries still recognize us as a country...", point is, like all democracies, it's a very corrupt system that relies on the money flowing and bribes flowing so if the big powers leave then the entire organization collapses.

They have historically been the more likely to abide by the terms of any given ceasefire. Izr is the one that has broken almost all of them. But the way the US sees it they're "just cracking down on terrorism" when they, you know, raid Al Aqsa mosque during ramadan, or what have you, and not in fact breaking a ceasefire. It's only breaking a ceasefire when ANY act is returned towards Izr, IDF or IOF.
