My dad lost his dad when he was 9yrs old, and was the only son of 4 children. My Nanna raised him to be an independent, loyal, respectful, hard working young man, and even though he grew up without a father, he became the greatest dad a girl could ever ask for. But over the past few years, I've noticed my aunt's retelling their childhoods, and how my dad was very much the baby of the family, and realised they too played a vital role in raising my dad. It was my aunt who took him to the Speedway, where my dad would one day race at for 15yrs. I have no doubt that my grandfather, who I've sadly never met, would've wrapped his arms around my Nanna when she joined him a few years ago, and told her how proud he was for how she raised their son ❤
